I am writing to inform you of a recent incident that has led to the temporary closure of the river by Parks Victoria.
Earlier today, there was a significant Canola Oil spill in the river, prompting authorities to close the waterway until further notice. As a result, we strongly advise against paddling in the river and recommend that club equipment not be exposed to this environment until it is deemed safe to do so.
We anticipate receiving further updates and advice from Parks Victoria by tomorrow afternoon (Tuesday 27th), approximately between 3 to 4 PM. To stay informed about the latest developments, please keep an eye on this page where we will provide any last-minute updates and guidance.
