Any members who are looking for something to fill in their Easter Saturday are most welcome to head to the club as efforts continue to get the ranges made safe for shooting to commence for everyone’s enjoyment.

Today’s efforts saw a large amount of mowing and w**d eradication done.

Access is via the Gun club. Gate will be open tomorrow by 8am. As ASSC have kindly supported all day access, you can come and go as required tomorrow.

Many hands make light work.

There are also things that require doing which don’t involve mowing, wipping or spraying, so if physical labor is not your thing, we have you covered ! See you tomorrow 😁

2026 hasn’t quite been the start we were hoping for.

After having 2 successful open days the weather worked against us, washing our main access road away, reducing access significantly. There is no timeframe for this road to be repaired.

Adding salt to the wound a second weather event caused damage to the secondary access road, rendering it impassable.

Thanks to the support of Alice Springs Shooting Complex we were able to secure some more flexible access times this weekend and for the next 2 weekends to get much needed maintenance done so we can get the club operational.

From this weekends efforts we have been able to get the secondary access road repaired, get another range online, get a mower working, clear paths for our IFAA range and have commenced reclaiming the practice range from the buffel grass.

A special shoutout to one of our Cubs and a Junior for lending a hand over the weekend !!!

To get the club back online, we are calling for all members of all abilities to please help out where they can, even if only for an hour or 2. Every contribution makes a huge difference and spreads the load.

To those who aren’t able to eradicate w**ds, re sleeve bales, mow or wipper snip, there are other jobs that would be of great assistance to the club both on site and from home. Please reach out to the committee to see what you may be able to assist with.

For those who have been waiting to come and try - Thankyou for your patience as we work hard to get the ranges made safe for use. Once we are fully operational we will let everyone know.

Emails will be sent to members to confirm access times leading up to the next 2 weekends. If everyone can contribute in some way there is a very good chance we can commence shooting as per the published calendar sooner than later.

Thankyou to all who assisted thus far, it’s been a tremendous effort ❤️

Following last weeks rain the main access road is once again a flowing river and hasn’t allowed for any repairs to commence. A further blow has been the secondary access through ASSC has also been subject of water inundation and will require some minor repairs.
As it stands, we have no access to the club.
Please stick with us as we try to get things back online.
We will reopen as soon as possible, until then, our published calendar is paused.
