Monday motivational coffee while I plan out sessions for this week.
I'm doing my best to stay motivated and organized so I can create more calm amongst my chaos.

Yesterday our family walk was through Seawinds Gardens, this time from the top. We were hoping to see some wildlife but with a talkative toddler we only managed to see some different mushrooms and some birds.

How's everyone been this week? Are you looking after your mental and physical self? I feel like I've been carrying this tight/heavy ball around with me but my little nature walks and some reading are making that ball feel smaller and lighter everyday.
This is from the top of my second adventure today. Was a bit of a hike and my legs will be feeling it tomorrow but it felt so good. The views along the way are just beautiful too!

Hope everyone is still being safe and kind, fingers crossed it won't be this way for too much longer. I know we can get ...

Hope everyone is still being safe and kind, fingers crossed it won't be this way for too much longer. I know we can get through this!
Morning walks for a coffee always make me feel rejuvenated. I'm even getting ready to go for a second walk today, this time through an uphill track.

This week I'm allowing myself some time to process the iso-funk I was feeling last week and let myself kind of reset mentally and emotionally.
You may have heard the phrase 'you can't pour from an empty cup'. What it means is if you use all of your energy on others and leave none for your own needs, your cup will have no energy. To maintain a balance their needs to be some balance with what empties your cup and what fills it. I don't know about you guys but I find I hit these metaphoric walls when I don't have a full cup.
Everyone's energy currency is different too. So you need to know what fills your energy and what reduces it to be able to come to a balance.
For me, I gain energy through creating (in any sense), physical movement, mental stimulus, meaningful connection, and being alone. But I've come to a realisation recently that if use one of these areas to fill my cup more often than the others, I will still hit that wall. I need to use them all in some way to recharge.
Now this may sound complicated to some, but remember this is my cup, so it's based around my needs and energy. Your cup may not make any sense to me either, but that's ok.
The key is to know what uses your energy and how to refill it. From there you can assess if there's a balance. When you come across something that you find particularly draining, try to find a way you can balance it out.
Here's a pre-isolation example for you: I knew if I had plans a couple of nights in a row, with groups of people, no matter who they were or how much fun it would be, I knew I needed to schedule in some alone time or physical movement to balance myself.
Do you know what fills your cup?

While we are all doing our part to stay home and stay safe it hasn't been easy. The days begin to meld into one another, Netflix and streaming services are all but complete, and we wave eagerly while saying "Good morning" to any human we see no matter the time of day.
We are all looking for kindness in our lives or something to warm our souls. So I thought I'd share some of the people who have been doing their best to spread joy and love like it's confetti! I hope it can help someone else smile and feel kindness too.
Mark Kanemura (Instagram) is all about spreading the good feels, self love, and actual confetti. He has daily dance parties on Instagram and his positivity just oozes through the screen it's so infectious!
Happy Mum Happy Child (FB/Instagram) is a New Zealand Mum who is just so honest, funny, and relatable. She also just raised over $13000 to shave her head for various charities yesterday! What a woman!
Mirror Movement (FB/Instagram) shares amazing posts about body positivity and the importance of self love.

This little one drives me up the wall and pushes all my buttons. But she is also the one who reminds me to be positive and find the love in the crappiest of days.
We set her play tent and camping bed up to watched a show before bed. She was so cozy and happy. She loved it so much that she is now sleeping in her camping bed on the floor in her room. Right next to her massive comfy bed hahaha.
Even she knows that a little change can make the everyday things fun.

Yesterday was a day.
I was in what I'm dubbing an 'Iso-funk'. I was just feeling so numb and stuck, and honestly part of me wanted to stay there being numb to my surroundings.
But I asked myself if I really wanted to stay there in that numbness. Did I really truly want to spend the whole day stuck there? Would I feel better
I knew staying there wouldn't benifit anyone, least of all myself. So I tried my usual de-funkafying techniques. I watched videos of people who inspire me, read about the kindness in my community, had a coffee, reached out to some friends, watched my daughter have a dance party, ate some food.
All of these helped momentarily, but nothing felt 'normal'. I realised I was really feeling the loss of in person human connection.
I know I'm not alone in feeling this loss and getting stuck in Iso-funks.
Anyone who is/has been going through this, please know you're not alone. And all these feelings are valid. Much like my view on food, our feelings aren't good or bad feelings, they simply are. If you feel something that makes you uncomfortable take some time to ask yourself why. You'll be surprised at what you learn about yourself.

I want to hear from those who recharge their energy by being alone. How are you managing in iso?
