The other night we had our annual sports ball which saw us handing over to our 2026 women in sport committee!!!
The 2026 committee is:

With Fred’s big run coming to an end, I’m thrilled to share that all five girls reached their 50 km goals, some even went further! A huge thank you to everyone who supported us along the way. Your encouragement helped us smash our target, allowing us to restore sight for 89 people around the world. Special thanks to those who ran alongside us and kept our spirits high 🏃🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️💨

This year our WIS team is taking part in Fred’s big run to help restore eyesight in 25 counties around the world. We are hoping to raise $500 and run 50km in August to help support this fundraiser. Right now, 9 out of 10 people who are blind do not need to be, and a simple procedure costing as little as $25. We would love it if you followed our journey and donated in the link below.

Over the weekend Hannah Stanmore and Eilish Mims represented UNE at the winter Intervarsity competition in Tamworth. The girls went up against both mixed and women’s teams from USYD, UNNSW, Macquarie uni and the under 23’s north western NSW. They finished first place in the women’s. Congratulations can’t wait to see how they go on the Gold Coast!!!
