🏃‍♀️❄️ WINTER CROSS COUNTRY SERIES – ROUND 5 ❄️🏃‍♂️

Round 5 of our Winter Cross Country Series is on this afternoon from 4:30pm at SportUNE's Consett Davis Sports Fields (meet at the Hockey Clubhouse).

The weather has been absolutely beautiful today, and we're expecting those great conditions to continue into the afternoon — perfect running weather! ☀️

After a quieter week on the course last Wednesday, with many of our younger athletes away competing at higher-level school cross country events, we're looking forward to welcoming everyone back.

For those athletes who have progressed through to state-level competitions, today's run is a great opportunity to get some extra training in. And if you're not chasing state selection, that's perfectly okay too! Come along, shake out those tired muscles, catch up with friends, enjoy a smile, and join us for some fun on the course.

🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ WINTER CROSS COUNTRY SERIES – ROUND 4 RESULTS 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

Round 4 results are now live!

Thankfully the weather held out for us once again, although it was a much quieter afternoon on the course this week. That was to be expected, with many of our younger athletes preparing for and competing in higher-level school cross country events over the coming days and weeks.

We'd like to wish all of those athletes the very best of luck. We can't wait to hear how you go and celebrate your achievements with you!

Last night's runners also had a couple of unexpected supporters out on course, with at least two local Skippys making an appearance. Whether they were there to cheer everyone on or simply provide some additional obstacles is still up for debate! 🦘😄

As always, it was fantastic to see everyone getting out, challenging themselves, and enjoying some winter running.

🏃❄️ WINTER CROSS COUNTRY – ROUND 4 ❄️🏃

We’ve officially hit our midway target of allocating 50 HuTags which is an incredible effort only a few weeks into the season — but we’d still love to see even more runners come along and join the fun! 🔥

The weather forecast is showing the possibility of a few showers this afternoon, but we’re keeping our fingers crossed that this morning’s beautiful winter weather sticks around 🤞☀️

And remember… even if we get a little rain, we’ll still be running! So rug up, grab your running shoes, and come hit the courses with us this afternoon. 🌧️💪

❄️🏃 ROUND 3 RESULTS ARE NOW LIVE! 🏃❄️

Results from Round 3 of the Armidale Athletics Winter Cross Country Series are now available! 👏

It was a cold, windy afternoon out at Consett Davis Sports Fields, but that certainly didn’t stop our athletes from getting out and tackling the courses. In some exciting news, we officially allocated our 50th HuTag this week — an awesome achievement only three weeks into the series! 🔥

We loved seeing some of our younger athletes step up and take on the challenging 5km course, while some of our older runners used the shorter distances as part of their preparation for the Backyard Ultra event in Coffs Harbour this weekend.

To all athletes taking on the Backyard Ultra — we wish you the very best of luck! 💪

And congratulations to every athlete who braved the cold and completed one of our XC courses this week. Cross country in winter isn’t always easy, but that’s what makes it rewarding! 👟🌬️

❄️🏃 WINTER CROSS COUNTRY – ROUND 3 🏃❄️

We’ve officially entered WINTER… and wow, we are definitely feeling it! 🥶 The temperatures are dropping and that wind chill is becoming very real!

But that’s what cross country is all about — crisp afternoons, muddy shoes, cold fingers, and getting out there and giving it a crack! 💪

📣 ROUND 2 RESULTS ARE NOW LIVE! 📣

The results from yesterday afternoon’s Round 2 of our Winter Cross Country Series are now available! 👟🌧️

Yesterday was mostly all about our younger athletes, with only a couple of our older runners tackling the course. But what impressed us most was seeing so many of our junior athletes brave the cold, wet and muddy conditions — and still either improve on last week’s times or set fantastic opening times for the season. 💪👏

That’s what Cross Country is all about:
Pushing yourself despite the challenges in front of you. Digging in when the conditions get tough. Showing resilience, determination and grit. We absolutely LOVE seeing it! ❤️
