Ex-Services 3rd Grade couldn’t have asked for a better return to one-day cricket, defeating Hillgrove 3rd Grade in the first one-day match back for the year.

After the break, both sides were eager to get back into match action, but it was Ex-Services who set the tone early with a disciplined all-round performance. The bowlers got things going by keeping Hillgrove under pressure, building pressure through tight lines and strong fielding that limited scoring opportunities and forced key wickets.

With a manageable total to chase, the Ex-Services batting group showed patience and composure. Partnerships were built steadily, ensuring the run chase stayed on track despite the early-season rust. The batters rotated the strike well and capitalised on loose deliveries to guide the team home.

It was a well-rounded team effort and a great confidence booster to return to the one-day comp. A strong start to the year and plenty of positives to build on as the season continues for Ex-Services 3rd Grade. 🏏πŸ’ͺ
