Vale Luke Bullock 1977-2026
It is with great sadness that we share the news of the loss of Luke Bullock at the age of only 49 .
Luke passed away last week, surrounded by love, after a three year battle with brain cancer, which he bore with his characteristic good humour . It was inspirational to see the strength and dignity he displayed throughout this incredibly challenging time for him and his family. He will be very fondly remembered as a caring family man and friend .
Luke came from a three generation history of involvement with the Melbourne Rugby Club , having played for us himself as a C**t in 1996 then in the early 2000’s in the grades .His father Leighton played 137 mainly 1st Grade games in the late 1960’s , and grandfather Stan Bullock was President of the Club in 1969.
Luke also played in the UK and Hong Kong whilst based overseas. In more recent years he coached Southern Districts juniors, as well as played for their masters team right up to his diagnosis, as his family moved to Frankson South.
His family - Katie and children Lachie and Jack , plus parents Leighton and Judi , and sisters Nikki and Sarah have expressed their gratitude for all the messages of support along the most difficult journey. With the help of this support , a garden sanctuary is to be created around the family home to preserve their privacy and memories of their husband and father.
