Our Story
At SPIRIT TAEKWONDO we encourage 'more than just the physical'. Our programs are focused on core values, and enabling your child to connect their mind, body and spirit. Through our specific leadership program, your child will learn skills not just to defend themselves, but to actively initiate and participate in community projects.
About your Instructor:
Sahbonim Carly Reasbeck (3rd Dan Taekwondo; WWC, NCAS & Kukkiwon Accredited) has over 25 years training experience in various Martial Arts and specialises in Sport Taekwondo. Over her fighting career spanning 10 years, Carly has trained and fought in various countries around the world. A 15 times NSW State Champion, 12 times Australian National Champion (Fly & Bantam weight) and Australian representative at international benchmark competitions such as US, Dutch, Korean, Spanish and Canadian Opens, Asian Championships, World Cup, World Championships, Commonwealth TKD Games and Junior World Championships (Quarter Finalist). Carly's highest achievement was earning a position as Reserve Olympic Athlete and Program Squad Member for both the Sydney 2000 (under 49kg) and Athens 2004 Olympic Teams (49-57kg). During her fighting career, Carly also received the first ever scholarship at the NSW Institute of Sport for Taekwondo and awarded in 2000 the ASM (Australian Sports Medallion).
Apart from her experiences and achievements, Carly believes in giving back to the community. Carly is passionate about rebuilding, recovery and empowering women; to be the optimum for no one else, but themselves. Regardless of gender, race or economical status, we all should have available to us the opportunity to participate in something that is fulfilling to one’s self.
