Sassy and Mya back to hidden valley, it’s nice to have them closer to home. Plan is to back Mya if anyone is interested in her. I don’t really want to sell her but I need to downsize. She has had many many outings fully saddled, led off another horse, walk, trot, canter along trails and roads so she has seen a lot. Not much fazes her. So she will be an experienced green horse, if that makes sense. 😄 11yo, 14.1hh bay/brown dun tobiano, trick and liberty trained. 11🥕🥕🥕

I was extremely proud and happy to see this and it shows the benefits of training liberty. Ella went to get 2 horses out of a herd of 13 in a 40 acre paddock. The horses were about 100 metres away. She called out sassy come, mya come, and this happened. ❤️ absolutely love it

Got to train the handsome Vegas today. He is a sensitive fellow but was brilliant today.

The stunning Aspen, very smart, easy going, happy to do whatever you ask of her. We asked her to walk over a big log at liberty the other day. Then she is like, look what I can do, and did it again. Lol

Update on MJ, he spent the day in a small yard of mostly natural grasses, with plenty of hard feed and toxin binder and was all good. Another step forward to recovery thank goodness

Update on MJ, he hasn't had an episode since being on toxin binder, about 4 days. He had 6 bites of grass today as a test and spent the day out of stable, in a dirt yard and all was good. Thanks all for your support, concern and messages. Looking like we are on the right track and it was due to mycotoxins in grasses.
So good to see him walking around and much happier.

Unfortunately MJ has had another episode, 5 months after the first. This time was much worse. Its been a tough 8 days with 2 horses very unwell.
Vets are not sure what's going on as symptoms do not fit with anything they have seen. Teachers and myself are putting it down to mycotoxins produced by plants in certain conditions to prevent livestock eating them. He has been completely off grass and on toxin binder for 4 days and since then has had no episodes so I think that means we are on the right track.
Poor boy, bit distressing when he can barely stand or walk and falls over.

Its with a very heavy heart that I write this. A day I have been dreading for years. At 23 yo we had to say goodbye to our beautiful Star, aka Pudding, after 6 days of extensive care, treatment and sleepless nights. On sat we found him with colic, seemed mild but looks like he was very tough. Then he developed hypoglycaemia, another obstacle to overcome but the compaction must of been severe and today we had to do the kindest thing and put him out of his pain.

He came into our lives about 18 years ago when I gave his owner horse riding lessons on him. He used to often run away from home due to being the only horse on the property and I was the only one who could catch him. Lol he was given to Ella for her 5th birthday and he lived a happy life with us and the herd for the next 14 years.

Ella was his human, he didn't trust many people due to bad experiences at a previous home. they had a great bond and partnership based on trust and respect and he was her riding pony, as well as tricks and liberty.

He was a show jumper in a Shetland body and always told MJ and Tango, he was the man of Tooraloo Lodge. 🤣

Never forgotten, RIP Pudding, forever in our hearts. ❤😭

Ella has done a lot of desensitising with Sassy.

It isn’t about making them ignore the world. It’s about helping them understand it. Every new sound, movement, and touch becomes a conversation: “You’re safe. I’ve got you.”

Trust isn’t forced—it’s built, one calm moment at a time.

When we slow down, stay consistent, and listen to their signals, something powerful happens. Fear softens. Curiosity grows. And in its place, a bond forms—one rooted in respect.

Because the goal isn’t control… it’s connection. 🐴❤

Vegas and Feanix — strength and promise standing side by side. 🖤

Vegas, the striking Friesian x Gypsy Cob, carries that bold, powerful presence, calm yet commanding, standing around 15hh as a 2yo.. Beside him, the handsome Feanix, Gypsy Cob, WB, QH, is growing up beautifully — filling out and not much smaller than Vegas as a 1yo. Stepping into his own with every passing day, with the most easy going trainable nature.

It’s something special watching potential turn into presence. The future is looking strong
