⭐ Age: 16yrs

A little about Bridie;
Bridie has proudly represented the Ararat Rats since 2022, and this year has taken another exciting step in her netball journey, playing in both the U17s and A Grade teams each week.

Over the past four years, Bridie has had the opportunity to represent both the Wimmera League and the Wimmera Mallee Netball Region in their U15 and U17 squads.

In 2024 and 2025, Bridie was selected for the Victorian Northern Zone Talent Academy as both a bottom-age and top-age player. She was also selected in the Top 50 Victorian U17 and U19 State Netball Squads, an incredible achievement that reflects her dedication and hard work.

For the past two years, Bridie has also been part of the Bendigo Strikers VNL Emerging Squad, continuing to develop her game and gain valuable experience within higher-level netball pathways.

Bridie finished up Runners Up in the Under 17’s Best & Fairest with an impressive 27 votes. What an amazing season πŸ‘πŸ½

Bridie’s goal is to continue developing as an athlete by building her strength, fitness and overall performance, allowing her to compete at her very best.

She wants to continue challenging herself, working hard and making the most of every opportunity that comes her way as she progresses through the Victorian Netball pathway.

Ultimately, Bridie hopes to continue taking her netball to the next level and see just how far her dedication, determination and love for the game can take her. πŸ’ͺ🏽⭐

πŸ“ Club/Team: Chalambar Bowls Club
⭐ Age: 15yrs

A little about Ruby;
Ruby discovered her love for lawn bowls at just 13 years of age. What started as a social game of bowls with her dad and Pop quickly turned into something much more. Ruby found that she genuinely loved the sport and had a natural talent for it.

Ruby has progressed rapidly and has already had the opportunity to compete in a number of Under-18 State events. Under-18 bowls provides young players with the opportunity to compete at a high level across singles, pairs, triples and other events.Β Β 

Ruby is currently playing weekend pennant bowls for Chalambar Bowls Club, where she continues to develop her skills and experience competing against a range of players. She travels to Ballarat every Monday night for specialist coaching and training.

Her biggest focus moving forward is becoming stronger and fitter, both physically and mentally, so she can continue to improve her performance and compete at an even higher level.

Over the next 8 weeks, Ruby will be working through his Elite Contender training program, focusing on building strength, fitness, confidence and athletic performance. πŸ’ͺ

πŸ† Sport: Basketball & Football
🎯 Position: Basketball positions: Power forward or Centre
Football: Ruck or Backline
πŸ“ Club/Team: Ararat Redbacks & Ararat Rats
⭐ Age: 16yrs

A little about Archer;
Archer has been playing basketball since he was 7 years old, and football since he was 13 years old.

Archer plays basketball with Ararat Basketball Association and for Ararat Redbacks, and has been playing Rep basketball since 2023.

Archer & his team have won several basketball tournaments. This year as bottom aged 18s they won Basketball Vic Junior Country Championships in their division, with a goal they want to achieve again in 2027.

In 2024 Archer played in the Under 14’s grand final, receiving a runners up medallion. They are about to start their 2026 finals campaign with the hope to be successful and into another grand final experience with the Under 17’s AFNC.

Since discovering the gym in 2025, Archer has worked hard at his fitness and strength, that has assisted him and is very keen to continue this journey with guidance and assistance.

Over the next 8 weeks, Archer will be working through his Elite Contender training program, focusing on building strength, fitness, confidence and athletic performance. πŸ’ͺ

⭐ Age: 15yrs

A little about Stella;
Stella has represented the Ararat Rats for the past 4 years. She has represented the Wimmera in her age group for the past 3 years, competed at Wimmera Mallee State Titles, and has been Talent Identified (TID) and selected into the Northern Region Talent Academy. She has also achieved Club Best & Fairest and Runner-Up Best & Fairest honours with the Ararat Rats.

Stella’s future goals are to keep improving, enjoying playing great netball, continue developing her health and fitness and hopefully pursue a career in the health field one day.

Over the next 8 weeks, Stella will be working through their Elite Contender training program, focusing on building strength, fitness, confidence and athletic performance. πŸ’ͺ

We’re looking to hand-select 5 talented athletes under 18 who are doing great things in their current sport, whether that’s footy, netball, athletics, basketball, or anything in between! πŸ‰πŸπŸ€

Our chosen athletes will receive:

πŸ’ͺ 3-month Elite Contender membership
πŸ”₯ 8-week tailored training program by Lauren Armstrong
πŸ“ˆ Support to help build strength, fitness & confidence
⭐ The opportunity to be part of the Elite Contender Talent Program
πŸ“£ We’ll also follow their journey and showcase their achievements throughout the year!

Most importantly, this is our way of giving back to some of our local young guns who are putting in the work, chasing their goals and having a go. ❀️
