FQ Academy League Youth Women Grand Final Dec 2023
Arana United vs Sala Time
After an undefeated season, the Arana side would go on to win their semi final by forfeit from Ipswich Futsal.
The Grand Final would see a first half double from Holly, followed by a late goal from Kate to have Arana leading 3-0 at the break.
That lead would prove unassailable, and was extended by a further two goals, one each to Gee and Issy.
Sala Time never stopped competing and scored a good goal of their own with a few minutes left to play.

Game 6 of the FQ Futsal State Titles was a comfortable win to Arana United against Sala Time.

🎥Apologies for the video quality (I struggle to watch & film at the same time 🫣)

The girls would go out to a 3 goal lead after scores by Kate (twice) and a nice individual effort by Sophie.
Sala hit back late in the first half with a good goal of their own.

The match slowed down in pace & intensity in the second half, but Kate managed to bag another goal to take Arana to an unassailable lead.

Game 5 of the FQ Futsal State Titles never reached any great heights.
Arana would score within the first 5 minutes with a nice goal from Kate, but then the teams traded the occasional scoring opportunity until an unfortunate injury to Sian saw the match suspended 3 minutes before half time.
After the injury break the second half kicked off with a good save from Kaitlin.
From there, goals to Kate in the 11th & 16th minutes ensured a comfortable victory for Arana.

Game 4 of the FQ Futsal State Titles was the closest game of the competition rounds for Arana United's Youth Womens team. The girls had defeated Crusaders in the first round (4-1), followed by victories over Ipswich (6-0) and Sala Time (4-0), but this game would prove to be their biggest challenge.
A tight first half would see Arana lead 2-1 at the break after goals to Holly & Kate and a series of good saves by the Crusaders GK.
The second half started with a quick equalizing goal from Crusaders, until Arana went out to a 2 goal lead after Holly & Kate both struck again.
Crusaders would fight back with two goals of their own, until, with only 4 minutes left on the clock, a deflected save would see Sian chip in the winning goal,

Another season of representative futsal will soon be upon us.
Kicking off with the State Titles on the October long weekend.
Arana will be conducting it's selection trials over two weekends in July and we would love to have you all back to defend your (many 😃) titles.

SEQFPL 2022 Youth Women Grand Final vs Sala Time Futsal Club
This game was epic.
Sala Time would be the first to score with a strong angled shot into goal, but less than 2 minutes later Arana tied things up when a powerful free kick from Steph came off the Keeper and trickled into goal.
Half Time Arana United 1 - Sala Time 1
The second half was all about defence with both GK's pulling off some excellent saves. Despite some near misses the sides would finish regulation time locked up.
End of Regulation Time Arana United 1 - Sala Time 1
The first period of extra time saw Arana score in the 3rd minute with a corner play again hitting the Sala GK and rebounding into their goal. Arana looked to have things wrapped up until, with less then 2 minutes to go, Sala scored another excellent goal.
End of Extra Time Arana United 2 - Sala Time 2
Then came the dreaded penalty shootout.
Sala kicked first and scored.
Sienna took the responsibility of being Arana's first shooter and cooly planted the ball in the back of the net.
Sala scored their second penalty.
Kate stepped up and beat the GK on the left.
Sala scored their third penalty
Holly had her shot blocked when the Sala GK anticipated the direction of the kick.
Sala had their fourth kicked blocked
Sierra then drilled the ball past the keeper on her left.
Then it came down to Keeper on Keeper.
Sala yet again went down the middle and had their shot blocked.
Kaitlin then calmly placed the ball, stepped back a few paces, and proceeded to smash the ball into the back of the net.
Arana win.

SEQFPL 2022 Youth Women Semi Final vs Crusaders Futsal Club

Arana started fast again in this match with a goal to Kate inside 2 minutes and from there they were never headed. Steph would step up to score a brace, followed by two goals to Sierra.
Half Time Arana United 5 - Crusaders FC 0.

The second half was a far tighter affair with both teams defending well until Crusaders (playing a flying Keeper) scored in the 20th minute. Sierra then took advantage of the Crusaders GK playing down court, by scoring two more opportunist goals, to finish the match with personal tally of 4.

SEQFPL 2022 Youth Women Game 7 vs South Brisbane Fury.
Well I've watched this match 4 times now and I'm still not sure how to describe it. Definitely not a defensive masterclass 🤔
The first half saw the Fury lead within the first minute before Arana would score the next 3 goals, until South Brisbane closed out the half with a late goal.

The second half started with 2 goals by Arana, before the Fury responded with 2 goals of their own. This was followed by a chaotic 150 seconds which saw 4 goals scored, 2 for Arana and 2 for South Brisbane. Then with only seconds left on the clock a South Brisbane corner would see them score a neat header to tie things up,

Oh what a feeling! SEQFPL Youth Women Grand Final vs Purple. Penalty shootout. Arana United win 6-5 to become undefeated 2022 SEQFPL Youth Women Premiers & Champions.
