Next year we'll announce what's coming for our community mental health programs, and there will be so much more to come.
For the remainder of this year, I just wanna work on myself. This gym has cost me an enormous amount of money, energy, time and mental health.
Eternally greatful for all who have supported us over the many years 🙏💜💙🙏
I can never thank you all enough

Tough decision but one that has been coming for a while.
With months of deep thought and in depth conversations with key people in the fight community, I have made a raw and difficult decision to retire the Supajai Gym on Stradbroke Island effective June 1st.
I have given my absolute everything to this gym and our community here on Straddie and feel this journey with the gym here on the island has served it's purpose and in reality this is no longer serving me.

I am going to spend the remainder of this year working and doing my own training on the mainland and enjoying the weekends at home on Straddie down the beach hanging out with my boy Prince.
In the future I would like to hold pads in a gym somewhere and contribute to the growth of other peoples fighter's and gyms. That way I can continue to spread the Quandamooka Cup Su***de Prevention message in our fight community and also still enjoy being part of the sport that has been my entire life for 30 years now. The Quandamooka Cup message will remain strong for the benifit of everyone's mental health within our fight community. I'm leaving my options open for opportunities to help out in other gyms.

I have a few obligations to complete here on Straddie with a couple of seminars and our mental health sparring day in May. Hence why I will close the doors on June 1st and put an end to 20 years of pure authentic muay thai on North Stradbroke Island.
I would like to send a heartfelt thankyou to the Amity Point Social Cricket Club for allowing us to use their space and also supporting our gym in ways unimaginable. You guys have been the reason we have continued to serve this community for the last 2 years.
To the local businesses and organisations including the North Stradbroke Island Police Services and the Dunwich State School I can never ever repay you all for what you have all contributed to help me run and maintain this gym.
To our sponsors both in and out of the fight industry, I am truly blessed to have had your unconditional support over the years.
To our wonderful island community, I am enormously greatful for the incredible memories over the last 2 decades. I've shared some of the best moments in life training all of you.
To all the gyms and the promotors who have welcomed us as guests and put us on your shows, we are incredibly greatful for every opportunity given to us to put our island mob amongst the best of the fight community.
To my family and friends who have supported/put up with my s**t over the last lifetime of years, I love you's and am eternally greatful for each of you keeping it real for me on this long and sometimes lonely journey.
To my 2 little angel nak muays up above Jai and Mitch, I know the both of you would be supportive of this decision from heaven above.

Thankyou for the memories Straddie, See you all May 27th when we have our final hoorah for our little island gym all in support of a great cause.

Taking some time out to refill my cup
Supajai Gym will not be running free general classes for the next 3 months. 1 on 1 training is still available via appointment and are subject to availability.
We will continue with our upcoming seminars and also our mental health sparring day event. We still have a gym and are going to use it to promote our message for mental health, but I'm taking the next few months off for all group classes to focus on my own training and my own mental health.
I need to recharge my batteries. I have poured my cup of energy completely empty for this community and would like to step back and focus on myself for a few months.
Sometimes you just have to stop giving so much of yourself away for free, otherwise no one values what you're giving them.
Huge thankyou to all of our regulars, our sponsors and those who support us, we will be back to a normal timetable in winter.
If you require 1 on 1 training, please email [email protected] to make a booking

Thankyou to this not so little bloke Alfie Smith for the rounds this morning. I remember when young Alfie was shorter than me haha, how time changes things 😅

Supajai Gym's first fighter Mitchy. We lost him to su***de on this day 7 years ago.
For those who knew and loved him, we still carry him in our hearts.
No one can replace you. We keep fighting this black dog depression for both you and Jai.

On this day 7 years ago the Quandamooka Cup Su***de Prevention was brought to life.
The concept started in my mind after a conversation with Supajai's father Dave. He mentioned that he wanted to have a fight and honour his son's memory. That's when my brain started ticking, 7 years later our message YOU ARE WORTH FIGHTING FOR is now recognised around the world. I can't even tell you what it's taken to make that happen. It just is 💙💜
