This Sunday - there are still spots remaining for this free training to learn how to be an official at athletics competitions!

This could be your pathway to simply learn more and support our athletes at their competitions or lead you to greater things!!

πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ Become an Athletics Official with Capital Athletics! πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

Registrations are now open for our upcoming State Accredited Referee (SAR) Course β€” the perfect opportunity to get involved in athletics in a new way and play an important role in our sport focusing on track and out of stadia modules.

Whether you’re a parent, former athlete, supporter, volunteer, or simply passionate about athletics, officiating is a rewarding way to stay connected to the community. Officials are vital to delivering competitions across the ACT, from Little Athletics carnivals through to state-level events.

We’re also proud to launch Able Officiating alongside this course β€” an inclusive initiative encouraging people with disability to become qualified athletics officials in a supportive and welcoming environment.

Officiating is a flexible role that values knowledge, attention to detail, and a passion for the sport. It can provide purpose, confidence, connection, and meaningful involvement in athletics.

Participants will receive:
βœ… Nationally recognised SAR accreditation
βœ… Practical hands-on training
βœ… Ongoing mentoring and support
βœ… Opportunities to officiate at competitions throughout the season

We would love to see members of our community join us and become part of the Capital Athletics officiating family.
