How to improve your badminton jump smash in 8 simple steps!

1. Master the Grip

•Use a forehand grip (like shaking hands with the racquet).

•Keep your grip relaxed, tighten only on impact.

•Avoid a stiff or panhandle grip — it limits wrist snap.

2. Improve Your Ready Position

•Stand with feet shoulder-width apart, knees slightly bent.

•Hold the racquet up and ready.

•Stay light on your toes.

3. Perfect Your Body Rotation

•Turn sideways before the smash (non-racquet shoulder toward net).

•Use your core and shoulder rotation to generate power.

•Keep your non-racquet arm up for balance and aiming.

4. Practice the Preparation

•Pull the racquet back behind your head.

•Elbow should point up, not out.

•Slightly arch your back to load power.

5. Jump Smarter, Not Harder

•Jump upward, not forward.

•Push off with both legs.

•Time your jump to meet the shuttle at the highest point.

6. Hit at the Peak

•Contact the shuttle at the highest point of your jump.

•Land on both feet with knees bent.

•Immediately return to the ready position to cover the next shot.
