Hi everyone!

House of hoist is open and available to anyone who is needing an outlet, especially through these challenging times. We have strength and powerlifting equipment, and Taylor (strongman) athlete is onsite to help with any questions!

We may not be a commercial gym, but we have some pretty cool equipment for you to try out and challenge yourself.

House of hoist gym - Safe location! Ballina and Lismore community flood disaster
Location: 1/46 Kay’s lane Alstonville.

Our gym has space, we will take in who we can. We also have a safe space for animals. If you stranded at the flood zone and think it is safe to get here please head down, no need to ask just come to our our door. If you don’t have a car and need transport we will come as close as we can to you. We will head down this morning to see who we can help on the highway.

We will take on as many people as we can!!

I’d like to say there are secrets to this sport, to strength but the truth is - It’s the basics done right, performed effectively, good, consistent nutrition and consistent treatment with the right people! Chiro is a staple for me to ensure my body is firing as it should be and my CNS is functioning to the highest degree possible. This is one of the best chiropractors I’ve seen to date and he’s honestly a man who knows how to treat me! If he can treat me, he can treat you! This is Dr Alan Singh at Northern Rivers Chiropractic in Ballina. I send my clients to him, my wife and friends because he is good at what he does and best of all, he’s passionate. I’m glad I have him in my corner as I approach my prep for OSG world champs in the US! If you’re in the area, go check him out! You won’t be disappointed. Tell him The Monster sent you!

Sarah easily pushing out her squats and dead squats! Proud of her. People often ask what we are like in the gym - Same as any other coach/client. She’s not my wife under the bar, she’s a client and my focus is on her form, strength and safety. Also, I take the same ‘no bullsh*t’ mentality with it -

Welcoming Mitch to 👊🏻👊🏻 Mitch is a Prison Guard and at 6’3” and 145kg/319lbs he’s got a big frame to work with! We tested his movements with light weight yesterday to get an understanding of where his strongest/weakest points are. He travels between Glenn Innes and Grafton for work but will be travelling up up here for sessions as well as online coaching! Literally no excuses! A lot of people complain about the pain of training, making excuses, complain about travel time, complain about it costing dollars - At the end of the day, if you want something bad enough (not just for a status) you’ll make it happen! Thanks for travelling all the way up here mate, it was a pleasure! Welcome to the team 👊🏻

Hey guys! I have new spaces available online (limited) and plenty in person. Anyone from a first timer right through to advanced athletes are welcome! I also welcome international clientele for online coaching and guidance. Ive lived in all body shapes and I’ve had personal history with body transformation, skin surgery, fitness, endurance, bodybuilding, powerlifting, strongman. I’ve also dabbled in boxing and martial arts. What I’ve learned is the more I know, the more I realise I don’t know and there is always more to learn not just for my clients but for myself as well. It’s a journey of learning and having fun. Strength isn’t just a style of training, I see it as a community of encouragement.
