Speech number 2 (The 1st one didn’t quite go to plan through all the tears!)
Today marks the day I close the doors to Little Monkey Sports. The last crocodile, crocodile and last monkeys jumping on the parachute.
What an absolutely amazing journey it has been over the last 5 years, starting my own company from a small dream and passion for sport. This dream has grown into something incredible and I have loved every class I have taught.
Starting as a solo class provider, I soon realised I needed more hands-on deck to help run the busy classes. I went from solo to 9 members of staff – Little Monkey Sports grew and grew quickly! At the Wanneroo Business Awards we became runner up for start-up of the year and at this point I realised Little Monkey Sport was really something special. So, I jumped in with 2 feet and a year later took winner for small business of the year – an achievement I am immensely proud of.
We have provided classes to the community, daycares and local schools and even featured on channel 10 at one point! Little Monkey Sports has become a brand I am extremely proud to call mine and hopefully have inspired many of our children to continue with lifelong sport in some way.
Over the last 5 years we have seen hundreds of children and would like to thank every single one of them as YOU are what has made Little Monkey Sports what it is. Your smiles, giggles, achievements and giving all sports a go have kept me doing what I love to do each and every class.
It is now time for me to take a step away from Little Monkey Sports as I return to my teaching career - another passion I have. I hope in the near future Little Monkey Sports will return with a new face leading the way and they too can enjoy the business as much as I have.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the children, parents, families, daycares, family daycares, schools, my staff and of course my husband, Phil and our 2 daughters. Without every single one of you Little Monkey Sports would not have been as successful as it was.
Special mention goes to my husband Phil, you are my rock, you wiped away my tears when things got tough, kept me going on the days that I needed it, and of course I can’t forget the late-night ball inflation sessions!
The photo attached is a first day and last day of Little Monkey Sports, through this it reminds me of how far we have come. It's been the most special and amazing journey.
Love Always,
Kris
