🏆 REDBACKS 2026 WOMEN PREMIERS! 🏆

Last Saturday saw Redbacks Hockey Club and Centrals Hockey battle it out for the Women’s Division title, with Redbacks coming away with a hard-fought 3–1 Grand Final victory.

🏆 FEDERALS 2026 OPEN PREMIERS! 🏆

Last Saturday saw Federal Hockey Club and Redbacks Hockey Club go head-to-head in the Open Division Grand Final, with Federals securing the 2026 title after a hard-fought 4–1 victory.

A huge congratulations to Federals on taking home the premiership! 🏑👏

A huge thank you to our Grand Final umpires! 🏑👏

What a fantastic afternoon of hockey and exciting Grand Finals to wrap up the 2026 senior season!

The Alice Springs Hockey Association would like to say a massive thank you to Rob Gardiner and Shaun Flanagan for making the trip to Alice Springs to umpire our Grand Finals. We really appreciate you giving up your time and travelling all the way to the Red Centre to be part of our biggest day of the season.

A special thank you also goes to Hockey Victoria Competitions Coordinator Damien Deefholts, who put us in touch with Rob and Shaun and helped make this happen. We’re incredibly grateful for your support and for helping connect hockey communities across the country.

We were certainly lucky to have two very experienced officials in the middle! Rob is a Foundation Lead Accredited Umpire and has recently returned from umpiring at the Masters Hockey World Cup in Belgium. Shaun is also a Lead Foundation Accredited Umpire, is involved with the Hockey Australia Umpire Pathways, and is a member of the Foundation Lead Panel Board.

Rob and Shaun also generously gave their time on Saturday morning to run an umpiring seminar for our local umpires, sharing their knowledge and experience before taking to the field for the afternoon's Grand Finals.

It was fantastic to have you both here, and we hope you enjoyed your time in Alice Springs as much as we enjoyed having you!

It’s pretty special that a game of hockey can connect people from across Australia, from the Red Centre to Victoria and even the other side of the world, all for the love of the game.

We really appreciate your support of Alice Springs hockey!
