SM Training I am a qualified Personal Trainer in Cert III & IV in Fitness. I am also a Muay Thai Coach.

I have numerous years experience in the gym as well as furthering my knowledge in postural and rehab aspects. I had the opportunity to partake in a course at Woodford Sport Science Consulting that went through: Musculoskeletal Anatomy, Biomechanical Analysis, Technique of the Squat, Bench, Deadlift, Clean and Jerk, Sn**ch, Coaching Progressions, Mobility Issues, Program Design/Critiquing, Performa

nce Nutrition, Rehab/Injury Prevention. As a trainer, I'm hoping to adapt a more holistic approach to focus on technique and quality before quantity for my clients. I'll be there to assist and motivate you to help achieve your goals! :)

➡️ The passion to educate made me adjust my priorities and remind me of my values⬅️

It has been quite a lengthy hiatus with social media updates.

After returning to Australia I had to find my feet in knowing how to interact in a class setting and also where to prioritize a lot of my time.
Being so reliant on a screen I knew that my time in a class setting was something I would never take for granted, or at least a space to give it my all.
Most people underestimate that my role is just about 'exercise'.
The moment someone turns up to class, they are giving you trust to educate, challenge, and grow them as a person.

That is a pretty unique thing to be part of!

Recently, I decided to pursue a Diploma in Psychology as I do believe training is a space where we learn more about who we are and our internal dialogue.

As a Coach, I find that most times we have to know the members; know their story, understand they're WHY to see their goals and be able to provide the tools to overcome boundaries.

For example - Self-limiting beliefs and actually reminding them they are so capable.

From that point, it was clear that to give value I needed to know how to prioritize things that were going to keep me in balance.

At some point posting less meant I was connecting more.
Allocating time for social media and responding to messages meant I could look after myself in order to give consistency in classes and to learn.
Saying no to things so I could say yes to things that I was passionate about and that I'd hope would make a difference. 😊

Moving ahead, I hope to still provide some training motivation, educational pieces, maybe a few videos (when I get less camera shy again), and some food for thought to remind you that investing in yourself and health is something that you should prioritize for long-term health.

Hey gang, I know it has been a while but I thought it was time to kick this bad boy up with more client/coaching specific content.

For those who haven't caught on, I am currently the Head Trainer at Central Outback in Alice Springs. During the time here I'm still working with a few clients face to face, online programming and studying. 🤓

It's a big thing to obtain the acquired knowledge in order to drive the growth of members, more importantly giving my energy whenever I am present.

I have so much to share and given the direction of the people I connect with daily, I hope to bring back a solid platform once my studies have been completed.

I've been real quiet on my PT page. As I've spent the last 6 weeks in the Far North, my focus is seeking to understand and learn about the members, programming for online PTs, working on ProjectPhilz and training.

The biggest thing that I wanted to be sure of is that I was learning more about regression and have an understanding of the person.

I've learnt so much about each and every one of them which makes me more dedicated and passionate to learn.

I've had a few questions that have been brought up, next will be in relation to eating.

Even coaches need to be accountable of goals!

Depending on what works for you, sometimes writing a goal/outcome might not be enough drive.

What I like to do personally is actually telling people about my main goals. For me, that is the scariest part because it's so real and now someone knows.

Their role isn't necessarily to keep you spot on your goals, just someone to help keep you on track if you're struggling or starting to fall off the motivation bandwagon.

This weekend is to make sure I have some level of swimming skill to take part in the Great Australia Day swim! Thanks to Shaun and Jess, I am pretty sure this will be enjoyable!

Mine personally is to feel mentally confident when competing, handstand press, UB 10 MU of all styles, hopefully 90 Clean and Jerk and 70kg Sn**ch 😝

➡️ REFLECT AND REVIEW! ⬅️

There are always the positives and negatives of any year. Sometimes personal, physical, mental and emotional.

However it's really important to reflect on the things you have ACHIEVED, and things you have LEARNT!

Key word. Learn. There are always mistakes that happen or things that didn't go accordingly. That's the unique part.

We're designed to learn and adapt.

For me:
➡️ I was able to compete in 5 comps
➡️ 2 Individual Comps
➡️ Read 12 books
➡️ Had 1 day off of no training
➡️ Started baking
➡️ Moved out of home
➡️ Got more confident within myself
➡️ Ran my first 2 workshops
➡️ 10 Bar MU unbroken
➡️ PB'd Dianne
➡️ Showed up even though I struggled through anxiety some sessions
➡️ Started to talk in videos more comfortably (probably more in future)
➡️ No pain in my knee post op
➡️ Travelled every year
➡️ Took the next step in
➡️ Loving meeting new people
➡️ Didn't end up in any operations

That's probably some to date but I could not have imagined a better year! 2019 you have so much to offer!!
