Desert Nationals 03/09/2025, Red Centre Nats 06/09/2025 @ Alice Springs Inland Dragway

After a little while between drinks we were back on track at the Desert Nationals.
With a fairly light field in Modified bike I qualified second a couple of hundredths of a second behind Ian Read on his Hayabusa.

My first round was against Bryan "Finny" Finn (Darwin"s Nitro up North winner) where unfortunately after a better than normal reaction I caught Finny at 3/4 track and not wanting to beat my nominated time I backed off giving Finny the win and a ticket into the final and the eventual win.

Ian Andrews took the win in Street Bike on the DGM sponsored R1 after punching out some very quick times for his first drag meeting impressing most!

With far from perfect weather conditions causing a major delay in qualifying I was In a field of mostly comp bikes due to low bike numbers.
The 14 was running comparable times to the Desert Nations a few days earlier yet I was no match for these very quick machines giving me a fair bit to think about for the upcoming 2026 racing season! Adam Rapp from Section 8 Racing won the event against a very quick field.

Desert Nationals Drag Racing - ONE DAY TO GO!!!!

The Australian National Drag Racing Association - Sportsman Championship Round, 2 featuring Top Sportsman, Competition Bikes, Junior Dragsters, and more!

Action starts at 11AM tomorrow Wednesday the 3rd until late.

Come down for a fun family time.

The countdown to the northern swing continues to tick down!

31 days to Nitro Up North at the Hidden Valley Drag Strip (August 29-30) and just 36 to the Desert Nationals at the Alice Springs Inland Dragway (ASID) on Wednesday September 3.

CADRA Round 2 Alice Springs Inland Dragway - 24th May 2025

My first qualifying round started off way better than expected with a 9.7 second pass straight off the trailer thanks to a rear shock service from Hoey Racing Motor Cycle Engineering in Adelaide and the expert advice and help from Ezy at Motoworx Alice Springs who pinpointed exactly why I was having so much trouble launching for many meetings.

After the excitement (excluding the plague of fly"s currently in Central Australia and having to pimp a fly net over my helmet) of being back into the 9"s and claiming top qualifier the consistency stayed winning 4 out of 4 races. I also managed to take home closest to dial-in with being just .008 of my nominated time of 9.8 seconds which was a total surprise.

After a great sunset over the track and the flies finally dying down the club put on a BBQ supplied by Alice Springs Toyota which was enjoyed by all.

2025 Desert Nationals - Wednesday 3rd September (day/night)

This high speed, action-packed event - Round 2 of the ANDRA Regional Sportsman Championship - is sure to be intense as competitors chase down valuable points and the elusive ANDRA Silver Christmas Tree trophy, whilst vying for the all-important bonus points on offer here in Alice Springs.

Just some of the brackets on track will be Junior Dragster, Junior Bike, Super Sedan, Modified Bike, Competition Bike, Modified Car, Super Stock, Top Sportsman & Supercharged Outlaw as well as Street Car and Street Bike.

CADRA Memorial and 1st points round. Alice Springs Inland Dragway - 15th March 2025

A surprising cool evening considering the hot weather we have been having which brought a good crowd which was great to see.

With this being the first time on the 14 since early November I was off to bit of a shaky start and some real traction issues with my first few passes in qualifying being in the 11"s and high 10"s I started to think here we go we are off to a cracker start to this season so with a check on my data for the same time last year and seeing the temperature and my times were pretty much duplicate so seeing this made me feel better about the whole situation!!

With the track starting to cool down, a few adjustments and a new clutch wearing in my times starting reflecting into the high 9"s and low 10"s pretty consistently making it a great start to the new season taking the win in Modified Bike.
