Lerwick Shetland Pony Stud is situated in Alexandra, Victoria, consisting of approx 30 ponies, with 4 resident stallions. We currently breed 4-5 foals per year.

Lerwick Shetland Stud is situated in Alexandra, Victoria. The stud consists of approximately 30 ponies, with 4 resident stallions. Ponies range in height from 9.2hh to 10.2hh and are of various colours. We currently breed 4-5 foals each season which are offered for sale by private treaty. Older stock is occasionally available for sale.

Some sad news today, resident stallion Huntington Chicago Jazz passed away peacefully overnight , just 3 weeks shy of his 27th birthday. He was a lovely little gentleman with a huge mass of hair which hid the sweetest face. Jazz was successful in the show ring in his younger years and produced some lovely foals for us in his retirement. He will be sadly missed.

Some pics of the yearling filly, Lerwick Jemma (now named Dolly), after arriving in her new home over the weekend. Jemma is by our black stallion Lerwick Urs who is currently for sale. Her weanling full brother is also available as in her dam who has been running back with Urs.

Lerwick Flynn (Lerwick Zoe X Huntington Chicago Jazz) has recently arrived back to his home in Victoria after a four month holiday in NSW. Flynn's finest achievement in NSW was to bring home a beautiful trophy, garland and plaques after winning Champion C**t, Champion Coloured Junior C**t, and Supreme Junior Led Exhibit at the Shetland Pony Society of Australia Youngstock Show in January.

Weaning has started with the first two foals getting ready to go to their new homes. Lerwick Ingo and Lerwick Ivy are both by resident senior stallion, Huntington Chicago Jazz. We still have two lovely c**t foals available for purchase including a rich chestnut c**t who will mature right up to height and be a wonderful saddle prospect.

Branding Day at the Stud yesterday for the 4 oldest foals. They were so well behaved and are looking great. The oldest is now 6mths and will be heading off to his new home shortly. Looking forward to seeing him in the show ring. Three lovely foals still available on weaning.

Last foal for this season has arrived safely. A black c**t foal for Lerwick Quelita by Tara Park Galliano. He will be offered for sale on weaning as we are not retaining any c**ts this year. He is a full brother to Lerwick Holly (pictured below). Pics soon.
