Boomers FC would like to congratulate one of our own life members - Kiera Hayes on receiving life membership to Albury-Wodonga Football Association last night.

This is an outstanding achievement and one very well deserved.
Your commitment to not only Boomers FC but AWFA goes beyond your playing days. The administrative side, the referring side and we have it on good authority even a little coaching stint for good measure. There is not a lot you haven’t done for our sport. It can be challenging at times stepping into roles where opinions differ and ideas dont always align. One thing is for certain you have held your head high through the highs and the lows. 👏

It’s the dedication you have shown of very many years service that makes sense for you to receive this recognition. You are in an elite group of people.

🔴⚪️⚫️Shout out to our teams who were unsuccessful over the weekend in securing a spot in the cup final.

12 boys Pool B
12 girls white
14 girls white
14 boys
Div 1 ladies

Your efforts across the season have not gone unnoticed.

Our 12 boys finished 2nd overall in their pool and for majority of these kids this was their first taste at competitive football. (Straight out of mini roos) Phenomenal effort all season.

12 girls white - our little bottom age fighters. These girls finished 3rd overall. Huge achievement given every single of them can play 12s next year. What a great little team and we look forward to seeing what you can do next year.

14 boys - started the season unsure if we would get a team on the park to push into a semi final spot shows the determination and persistences this team has had all year. Possibly some of the most humorous moments from this season came from this group. Great bunch of teenagers and we hope to see them stick around next season for 16 boys. Which we haven’t had in a few years.

14 girls white

Another strong performance during the year which rightfully so meant a semi finals birth awaited. Falling short yesterday but the courage and commitment these young group of girls have is second to none. Proud of their efforts and will be a force next year.

Div 1 ladies

Our senior ladies have had an up and down year off the pitch which meant at times fielding a team for a game was a struggle. They as a group have been through more than any playing group should have to go through in a lifetime let alone one season. Still fought hard to make their way into the semis. Falling by 1 goal yesterday to the team they beat in the cup final the previous year, they are probably feeling this one today. Keep your heads up ladies. The club is proud of every single one of you.

Always hard to fall short in a semi, however our coaches, managers, parents and supporters are so proud. 🔴⚪️⚫️

12 Girls red. This bunch of girls have been solid all year and have rightly worked their way into the cup final Saturday.

Facing their arch rivals Hotspurs, the girls are ready for the challenge.

Due to the weather yesterday our 12 girls white team and Div 1 ladies did not play.

We turn our attention to today.
All existing scheduled games for today are going ahead.

What does change today - Div 1 ladies play 11.30am at Jelbart and our 12 girls white play 7.45am at Jelbart. Come down and support all our teams! 6 booma teams battling it out for a grand final stop 🔴⚪️⚫️

Thanks to Albury United Soccer Club for being so accomodating. Mammoth effort to get everyone on the grounds.

Also a huge shout out to St Pats FC and Andy Stevens for going over and above for our 12 boys pool B match yesterday. When we arrived in Wang to find out our game had been cancelled. Andy was very accomodating and allowed our boys to play back in town. Nets ready to go and we are extremely thankful for your support. Just one club supporting others for the greater good of the game. 👏👏

Thank you to our parents for being so accomodating. Patiently standing around in the rain waiting to find out what is happening.

Unfortunately the result didn’t go our way. The game was however played in great spirits and each player should be extremely proud of the their efforts and how they conducted themselves. Good luck to Wodonga Diamonds under 12 boys pool b team in the grand final next week.

Volunteers are what makes all the association clubs run. It’s these people that get our teams on the field each week. Volunteer spirit was alive yesterday in trying conditions.

Our favourite time of the year - Sun is out ☀️ but also we roll into semi final weekend!

On Saturday at our mini roos presentation Ryan Van Grinsven was awarded Life membership to Boomers FC.

The current crop of Boomers members know Ryan as Boomers mini roos coordinator.

However what some don’t know about Ryan is he was an excellent defender in his day. Fondly know as ‘Foss’ by his ex playing gang. When you see him next, ask him why!

Ryan has been around the club for so long and whilst his roles within the club have changed and evolved one thing hasn’t. His dedication to Boomers. He has done it all. Committee member, player, coach and now mini Roos coordinator.

We also appreciate behind the force that Ryan is, there is a team. Kirsty, Arlo and Felix - we know he can’t do what he does without you by his side. 👏

This life membership is so well deserved. Please help us in congratulating our newest life member.
