We realised that we'd told our members and done face to face chats, but still hadn't put anything on the socials, so we better do it.
With Izzy heading off on a bit adventure today, what better time? We wish the big man all the very best, with his big heart, incredible work ethic and universal lovability, we know without doubt that he will crush all his future challenges and excel in these new endeavours.
We know that everyone has said a million times that 2020 was a tough year, but for Jones Brothers Gym it was particularly tough. After navigating what we thought were the worst parts of the COVID impacts, we came out of lockdown raring to go, only to be kicked out of our premises by our landlord's-landlord, the week between Christmas and New Years, without notice - effective immediately.
We went to boot-camp mode right away, but it was quickly clear that after over 8 years, with no viable alternative, Jones Brothers Gym was going to have to close it's doors for now while we assess any future opportunities as Jones Brothers - or something that looks a little different.
Small business is always a rollercoaster, but the last 18 months for us was a particularly steep ride.
The webpage came down last week, the emails no longer work, but we can't bring ourselves to kill the socials just yet - so we will leave them here for the years of memories. There is plenty of sadness, but also optimism for the future as we embark on new adventures.
Thank you to our amazing members, to our community of support, thank you for the kind words, the big smiles, the early starts and the high fives. Keep moving, keep being nice, looking out for each other and looking after yourselves.
Keep an eye out in the future, there is a good chance that in the future, we'll still see you at the Lake.
