Y Rowing Club We are an all female club which has a range of squads to suit your skill level from beginner to competitive.

Located on Melbourne’s beautiful Albert Park Lake, the Y Rowing Club provides an opportunity for people of all ages (from teens through to mature age adults) to learn and enjoy rowing in a safe and friendly atmosphere and at an affordable price. We offer learn to row programs for both males and females, and have pathways available for those wanting to return from rowing after a break.

This morning we had a fantastic group of people come and try rowing for the first time. While it was a little bit windy, everyone got out on the water, and quickly learnt the basics of rowing. An impressive effort! Well done 👏🏽👏🏽

Come and Try Rowing! Sunday 26th April. 10am-12pm.
No experience needed. Supervised by qualified coaches.
Only $25 per person. 2 hour session.

This program is designed for women and men who want to try out the sport of rowing, in a safe, fun and supportive environment.

During the session you will learn basic terminology and an introduction to the rowing stroke and rowing technique. Our coaches will take you through the basics in the gym on the ergs (rowing machines) and then we’ll head out on to the water to get first hand experience. The coaches and other experienced rowers will be there to help in the boat and ensure everyone gets back safely.

A peek at the what happens on the ground at the Albert Park Lake Masters regatta 2026.

Y Rowing, the Melbourne Argonauts, APSM, Rowing Victoria, Umpires and a raft of volunteers put on a great regatta this weekend.

Competitors rose to the weather challenges and competition was fierce. Throughout the day they fortified with delicious sweet treats, a fantastic bbq and the end of day balcony bar.

The Y Rowing cake stall is all set up at the city end of the lake, for the Albert Park Lake regatta!! Stop by to pick up a sweet or savory treat, whether you’re rowing, umpiring, spectating or just walking past.
All proceeds go to fund our new gym equipment.

Well done to our Head of the Yarra crew! What amazing effort ladies! Thanks for putting on a spectacular event! Thanks to our neighbours for transporting our boat to and from the event, and having a drink and a laugh with us. And thank you to all the members and supporters who watched from bridges, rode alongside, watched us cross the finish line, carried our bags and tuned in online, your support was the best!! Go Y!
