ENTRIES NOW OPEN for the 2026 Melbourne to Hobart Westcoaster ⛵️

For over 50 years, the Westcoaster has called sailors south, across Bass Strait along Tasmania's West Coast, and through the rolling swells of the Southern Ocean to Hobart.

435 nautical miles. A course shaped by strategy, skill, and the sea.

This is the highest-ranking race in the ORCV Offshore Championship, and one of Australia's true blue-water ocean classics. Whether you're racing full crew, 4+ autohelm, or double handed, there's a place in this fleet for well-prepared boats and crews ready to take on one of the most rewarding offshore passages on the calendar.

More than 900 yachts and 7,000 crew members have made this passage. The 2026 race continues that legacy, and we'd love you to be part of it.

What a fantastic turnout for the KISS Safety Workshop at Elwood Sailing Club! 🙌

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who generously donated sailing gear for our KISS participants. Every single item was gratefully received and is already helping more women sailors get out on the water with confidence. Programs like this run on community spirit, and you've shown exactly what that looks like.

Mark your calendar. The 2026 Women's Helm, Navigator & Radio Operator Race is on!

Starting from Royal Brighton Yacht Club on Saturday 29 August, boats will sail across to Royal Geelong Yacht Club, with a cruise home together on Sunday.

Don't have a boat but want to be part of this race? You don't need to sit this one out. Fill in the online form on our website and we'll do our best to match you with a competing boat. It's a brilliant way to get offshore experience, meet other women sailors, and take on a key role: helm, navigator, or radio operator.

Ten days until the ORCV Awards Evening and it's shaping up to be a great night.

Know someone who had a standout season? Now's your chance to make sure they get the recognition they deserve.

Nominations for the Special Awards are still open. Whether it's a sailor who gave it everything, a crew that punched above their weight, or a volunteer who kept things running behind the scenes. If they made a difference this season, put their name forward. Don't leave it too late.
