Wow - what a huge difference / improvement happening at Lawley. A huge thank you to Mike P, Di, John C, Clive, Mark and Caroline and the wonderful group Friends of Lawley for clearing the bank near the car park. Plan - spray any new growth and then plant with natives. Suggestions are red flowering gums, ground covers and paper barks near the drain. Priority - wind break with natives but must be practical and a welcoming statement. Also a huge thanks to amazing couple Mark and Caroline who reattached the gutter on the lower pavilion. It actually needs that section replacing so if any one knows a roof plumber who can help out please let us know.

The City of Albany have employed a private contractor to remove the last of the lantana and other bushes that our intrepid and persistent members started attacking. The area will be replanted with native species. Thanks to Mike P, John C, Paul L and Di who rolled up their sleeves at the last busy bee a couple of weeks ago. They did a sterling job and removed a lot of the dead plants along the southern fence line. We are slowly making a big difference to the aesthetics of Lawley Park.

Looking wet and windy for Sunday. ALAC - 8 courts - booked from 1.15pm - 3pm. Please don’t come sooner than 1pm as roller derby has the court booked until 1pm and it will take 15mins to set up
