Mechanical tension is arguably the primary driver of the 3 mechanisms for training induced muscular hypertrophy (strength and growth) and is created by using a heavy load and performing exercises through a full range of motion over a period of time.

Metabolic stress and muscle damage being the other two drivers

The theory stands that increasing the duration of each rep under full range of motion increases the overall volume and overall muscular increase
The time under tension with correct form matters much more than the number of reps you are doing

Slow it down and train smart, train safe, train efficient

When I first decided to have Angelica as my trainer, I told her I only wanted a few sessions to learn safe techniques and that I would do it myself after 3 or 4 sessions. My 1st session was on
April 27th. 7 months later I still see her every week and love how my body has changed.
I am still having so much fun, that I just can't stop.
