Last day of games for many teams tomorrow, but there's plenty of last minute excitement on and off the pitch!

In addition to the Girl Guides running the canteen tomorrow, we have something a bit different for everyone with the Pink Lotus Food Van down from 9am-2pm.
We also have the Albany Chamber of Commerce & Industry in attendance inside the pavilion, where you can pick up one of these amazing limited edition Albany/Kinjarling Monopoly boards! If you're looking for a birthday or Christmas gift, or maybe a gift for a coach or volunteer at your club 😉 then this is your chance to grab one while they're still available.

Just a heads up an email was sent earlier to all clubs regarding set up and pack down as well as cup finals for next weekend, hopefully everyone would've had that info shared with them. We'll have some more updates on cup finals after this weekend.

Thank you and good luck to all teams tomorrow ⚽️

***Couple of reminders/updates for tomorrow***

Tomorrow we have Sonics basketball club running the canteen, next week is Girl Guides. Thank you to both of these groups for stepping in to fill run a canteen, its much appreciated.
Both Sonics and Girl Guides have smaller crews, so if you're on a 9am game tomorrow and the nets and corner flags aren't completely set up when you arrive, please lend a hand and set them up, we will endeavour to have everything set up as normal.

Teams playing Cup games tomorrow, there are blue match cards on the bar in the pavilion., Please make sure that games on C1 & C2 the coaches and subs are standing/sitting on the pavilion-side of the pitch, C3 & C4 set up on the Barnasby drive side, most importantly both teams must be on the same side.

We have our last feedback and workshop sessions tomorrow, come and see our amazing facilitators in the pavilion, it's been great seeing the input so far. Times are as follows:
- AJSA to GSSA/junior to senior pathway - 9.30-10:30am
- school to club pathway - 10:00-11:00am

Final reminder, whilst Cup competitions can be a slightly more competitive event, we have an absolutely zero tolerance of abusive behaviour towards referees, players, coaches and other spectators. We all want our kids to have the best experience they can, so please support each other to make that happen.

Good luck to all teams tomorrow! ⚽️

UPDATED: Please consider these as taken, there's about 20 requests for them so we'll respond and get the pick ups organised shortly.

Who wants a free soccer goal?
We need to get these goals out of the hockey area asap. If you would like a goal and you can arrange to collect it then please message us or email [email protected]
If you know anyone that would like them as scrap metal or something, also please reach out, we've tried all other options but we just need them gone. Any help from the broader community is much appreciated.

There's 8 goals in total, they're steel goals. The dimensions are:
Height - 1.85m
Width - 3m
Depth - 1.60m

We're into the pointy end of the season now, which understandably brings a broad range of emotions! We're looking forward to what should be another fun Saturday though.

There's two feedback and workshop sessions this Saturday as well, we cannot recommend highly enough for parents, coaches and players even to come and share any ideas that they have to keep us moving forward. A big thank you to everyone who's been involved so far, it's been great to see, this week the topics we have are:
⚽️ Girls Football - 9:30-10:30am
⚽️ Country Week - 11am-12pm

Good luck to all teams this weekend.

🥳 The Cup Semi-finals are set!
Friday Saturday 4th & 5th September get ready to lock in!! ⚽️

Correspondence will go out shortly to clubs regarding the teams that are not playing in semi-final matches to arrange friendly matches wherever possible.

A reminder for teams playing in the semi-finals, that we will do 3rd place playoffs this season. Cup Final day on 19th September will be only the U12-18 Cup Finals and 3rd/4th place matches, we invite and strongly encourage all teams to come along and enjoy the festivities on what promises to be a thoroughly entertaining day! This year will of course feature 8 Finals for the first time, plus the cafe and a canteen of sorts as normal as well as a food van. More details to follow.

U6-U11s matches on 5th September are all as per normal/squadi. We ask that U10 & U11 teams on that day just be prepared with regards to referees as sometimes if games go to extra-time as they did yesterday, then referees can be held up (apologies for not giving the heads up about that prior to yesterday) and a parent or coach may need to fill in to be able to start on time.

We've got a normal round of league matches this Saturday, please check squadi for your normal fixtures.

Have your say: Referees

Following a successful first session regarding Coaching, we move ahead to the next session. Thank you to anyone who spoke to one of the amazing facilitators last Saturday, there was a lot of general and common feedback, so this is a call out to ask for more idea-based feedback. Your ideas will be heard, they'll be discussed with you, we're here for and ready for your input.

This Saturday 22nd August, 9:30-10:30am in the pavilion, in the corner in front of the TV to the right of the cafe, the next of AJSA's feedback and workshop sessions will be on.
This is a chance for anyone in the soccer community to share their thoughts on Refereeing, particularly around development, mentoring, education etc. It's a drop-in format, no meeting to sit through, just come have a one-on-one chat with a facilitator, there will be 4 amazing volunteer facilitators, all of which are not AJSA committee members.

Reminder: A couple of things worth knowing before you come down, these sessions are about constructive ideas, not a place to raise an individual complaint and expect an on-the-spot fix. If you've got a specific complaint, the right channel is through your club's committee, who can raise it with AJSA on your behalf. But if you've got thoughts on how to make coaching support better for our clubs, no matter how big or small the idea may seem, we genuinely want to hear them.

Remaining sessions that are confirmed are:
- Female/Girls football on 29th August 9:30-10:30am.
- Country Week 29th August time TBC
- Junior to Senior Pathway 5th September 9:30-10:30am
- School to Club/U12 to U13 Pathway 5th September time TBC.

See you Saturday ⚽️

⚽️ Cup Quarter-finals and Round 14 coming up this weekend, here are all the games that are ahead for this Saturday ⚽️

The next round of cup matches after this are on the 5th September and then Cup finals on 19th September.
There will only be Cup finals and 3rd/4th play-offs on the 19th September, we're working on the set up for Cup Final day to make it an entertaining day for all, so save it in the calendar!

For anyone who isn't sure on how the Cup structure works or if you have a specific question about the age group your child is in, leave a comment and we'll answer it, there's no dumb questions about this subject. There are also the Rules of Competition on the AJSA website that can be referred to.

Good luck to all teams this weekend!

Have your say: Coaches - Training and Support

This Saturday 15 August, 10:15–11:15am in the pavilion (inside the building where the canteen is), for the first of AJSA's feedback and workshop sessions.
This is a chance for anyone in the soccer community to share their thoughts on coaching training and support in our region — what's working, what's not, and what AJSA could do to address it. It's a drop-in format, no meeting to sit through, just come have a one-on-one chat with a facilitator, there will be 3 amazing volunteer facilitators, all of which are not AJSA committee members.

A couple of things worth knowing before you come down: these sessions are about constructive ideas, not a place to raise an individual complaint and expect an on-the-spot fix. If you've got a specific complaint, the right channel is through your club's committee, who can raise it with AJSA on your behalf. But if you've got thoughts on how to make coaching support better for our clubs, no matter how big or small the idea may seem, we genuinely want to hear them.

More sessions on other topics - referees, school to club pathways, junior to senior pathways, female football, Country Week - will follow over the coming weeks. Keep an eye on this page for dates.

See you Saturday ⚽️
