🏒 Mighty Pines Wrap-Up 🐲

What an incredible night of hockey at Mighty Pines! After 15 fast-paced round robin games, the intensity never dropped. Each match was short, sharp, and packed with action, with players showing off impressive skills, determination, and growing confidence.

The competition was fierce and evenly matched, with wins, losses, and draws shared across all teams. More importantly, the development of teamwork, communication, and support for one another was outstanding to watch.

The bronze medal match up saw Shenron (green) and Dragonite (orange) go head-to-head for a place in the grand final. Dragonite came away with the win, but Shenron pushed hard right to the final whistle in a fantastic contest.

The grand final between Spyro (purple) and Dragonite was an absolute nail-biter. After 8 minutes, the score was locked at 2–2. A tense 2 minutes of overtime couldn’t separate them… which meant one thing - a shootout! In true Dragons fashion, we’ve seen this story before, and it didn’t disappoint.

After 7 intense rounds, we finally had our winner - Spyro! 🥇

And who could forget our legendary tendies! Ryan and Carys stepped right out of their comfort zones and absolutely crushed it in goal, while Hunter was outstanding as always - shutting down plays and blocking shots like the pro he is. Incredible effort from all three! 🥅🔥

But the real winners were everyone involved - players, parents, supporters, and helpers - all bringing energy, encouragement, and spirit to make it such a special event. What a night!

Final Placings:
🥇 Gold – Spyro (Manager Jesse)
🥈 Silver – Dragonite (Manager Frankie)
🥉 Bronze – Shenron (Manager Sia)

A huge shoutout to our intermediate players who stepped up to coach and manage the teams. They were outstanding mentors, brought great game insight, and helped their teams gel, support each other, and enjoy every moment (while still giving each other a bit of stick along the way!).

Big thanks as well to Pete, Ben, and Lance for reffing, Jeff and Bee for scoring, and all the parents and supporters who got behind the kids and brought the fun and intensity.

An unforgettable event full of passion, teamwork, and great hockey - bring on the next one! 🙌

This event would not have been possible without her generous support from City of Moreton Bay - THANK YOU!

🐲 GAME DAY - THIS SUNDAY - DRAGONS 🆚 KINGS 🐲

A few more sleeps until our third Junior Competitive game of the season! An exciting match up, we can’t wait to see our teams back on the rink after the holiday break!

🐲 Let’s support our teams, back our players and enjoy hockey the Dragon way! 💜

A few reminders for our players:
🏒 Arrive 30 minutes before game time
🏒 Be rink‑ready 10 minutes prior for the coaches’ chat
🏒 Bring a full water bottle for the bench
🏒 Make sure you have all your protective gear
🏒 Home change room no earlier than half time the game prior
🏒 Players must remain on the bench during the game unless directed by the Coach or Manager.
💜Play hard, play as a team and support each other - on and off the rink.

A few reminders for our parents:
⚠️ If you are running late or unexpectedly unable to attend, please notify your Team Manager as soon as possible, as scorer sheets must be completed before the game begins.
⚠️ Parents and others are not permitted in the change rooms, near or on the players bench, behind nets, in the gantry above the scorers box or in players areas (including behind / next to the benches, the back walkway under the score board, the corner area near the back entry door and the walk way in front of the change rooms).
⚠️ To assist with players getting ready, if needed please arrive partially dressed where practical. If required, players can leave the change rooms to get assistance from parents near the cafe area.
⚠️ The manager will find the parent during the game if they are required for any reason.
⚠️ILHQ understand it is the start of season so there are allowances for uniforms until the first few weeks in. As per the first game, if you have not received - we have some spares we can loan until yours arrives. If you have not received your cover pants please either wear plain black cover pants.
⚠️Players with hockey bags are to use the back entrance up the stairs, all other patrons to use main entrance.
⚠️ Any questions - talk to your Team Manager in the first instance.e
