MENOPAUSE CHANGES YOUR BODY.
THAT DOESN’T MEAN YOUR BODY IS THE PROBLEM.
If you’re noticing your body feels different in your 40s and 50s, you’re not imagining it.
During perimenopause and menopause, oestrogen and other hormones fluctuate and eventually decline. This can influence sleep, mood, energy, muscle mass, bone health, recovery and where your body tends to store fat.
Which is why the diet and exercise routine that worked for you 10 years ago might not feel right anymore.
And this is where I think we need to change the conversation.
You don't need to punish your body into submission.
You may need to support it differently.
🥗 Nourish it.
Prioritise protein, fibre, whole foods and the nutrients your body needs rather than constantly eating less.
💪 Strengthen it.
Resistance and weight-bearing exercise become especially important for maintaining muscle and supporting bone health as we age.
🧘♀️ Slow it down.
Your body still needs movement but movement doesn't always have to leave you exhausted. Yoga and Pilates can help build strength, mobility, balance and body awareness while giving you space to breathe and reconnect.
😴 Recover.
Rest isn't laziness. Recovery is part of looking after your body.
And perhaps most importantly…
Stop comparing your current body to the body you had at 25.
You aren't supposed to be the same woman.
Your body is moving through a completely different stage of life.
At Vibe Yoga, we want movement to be something you do with your body, not something you use to punish it.
Come stretch.
Come strengthen.
Come breathe.
Come move at your own pace.
Because menopause isn't the end of feeling good in your body.
It’s an invitation to learn what your body needs now. 💚
