Viparita Karani to finish our fabulous Working Towards Arm Balances Sunday Session. 🙏
A completely restorative way to finish after two hours of exploration, effort and practice.
Today we focused on Yoga Sutra I.12 Abhyāsa and Vairāgya: practice and non-attachment.
Our practice is still substantial even if today you simply lifted one foot from the floor in Bakasana, or managed to bring your shoulder a little further underneath your leg in Eka Hasta Bhujasana.
It’s not about achieving the final pose. It’s about what we learn along the way.
The press of the hands.
The lift of the shoulders.
The steadiness of the breath.
The strength and action of the back leg in Utthita Parsvakonasana and then discovering how that same action transfers into Visvamitrasana.
These are the moments where practice becomes more than achieving an asana. We practise, observe, learn and continue without becoming attached to the outcome.
Thank you for joining me today and allowing me to guide your practice time. 🙏
Happy Sunday!
We’ll continue exploring arm balances in classes this coming week.
See you on the mat.
