Our A Grade captain is back for another season 🎉🙌🏽

We’ve asked our A Grade Captain a few questions so you can get to know the man behind the captaincy a little better! 👇

🔥 Nickname: Hammer, Hammers or Hamdog

🏏 Playing Position: All-rounder… according to Hammer. Everyone else seems to think he’s a bowler 😂

🔵 How long at Cove? Since his first year of Under 15s, so safe to say he’s been around for a while!

🏆 Favourite Cricket Memory: Winning an Under 15s premiership with many of his close mates, along with the very recent two premierships at the same ground. A pretty good run!

🥇 Best Cricket Achievement: A few Duck Cups 🦆… or a premiership.

💥 Favourite Shot: “I only have the one, so that.” 😂

😂 Describe yourself as a cricketer in 3 words:
Angry. Erratic. Inattentive.

🚗 Least favourite person to be stuck on a road trip with:
President Brett Kinnear, apparently he can be really annoying on a long car ride! 😂

We have been lucky enough to be asked to host a Cricket Blast at Cove this season

8 week Program run by experienced coaches, featuring fun game-based activities to encourage teamwork while growing skills. This program is Free using your Sports voucher or $99 without.

This has always been a fun and entertaining introduction to Cricket so jump on board! 🏏☀️

We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of club legend Paul “Mole” Kinnear.

Paul was one of the true backbone figures of our club from the moment he joined. A leading wicket taker, premiership player, long-serving President, Hall of Famer, and a driving force behind getting our junior program started in the early days when we had none. The hours and dedication he poured into building this club into what it is today can never truly be measured.

Paul was an all-round great mate to so many, both on and off the field. Even opposition players would agree, with many fearing facing Cove when Mole came charging in with his left-arm fast bowling.

More than anything, Paul’s loyalty, passion, and love for the club will always be remembered.

Our deepest condolences go out to the entire Kinnear family during this incredibly sad time. Please know your sporting family is here for you, and if there is anything we can do as a club, we will be there.

RIP Paul “Mole” Kinnear.
