moov personal training is an Adelaide based personal trainer service based in the CBD. At moov personal training we believe in using simple, functional movement and our back to basics approach to get you results in a safe environment. We work with all ages and fitness levels and can help with strength; rehab; mobility; fitness; weight loss. Individualised assessment & programming by a physiotherapy qualified personal trainer.

Gianna has been doing Kettlebell deadlifts for a while now but has outgrown the heaviest kettlebell at the studio so we transitioned to the barbell today and did a test run. 💪🏽

She did pretty well for her first go. 👏🏽

Barbell deadlifts are a different beast to kettlebell or dumbbell deadlifts and I very rarely have clients on the barbell.

Here are some cues I gave her:

• Shoulders down
• Arms straight
• Belly breath in and hold
• Push the ground away through your feet
• Hips come forward

Deadlifts are such an important skill to learn to keep our backs away from injury and our glutes and hamstrings strong. 💪🏽

IF YOU’RE AWARE OF AREAS OF YOUR BODY THAT ARE HOLDING YOU BACK…make sure you’re addressing these areas because you’re only as strong as your weakest link. 🖇️

Your overall function will improve if you focus on those areas that are not functioning so well for you right now. 💫

DID YOU KNOW Your back pain could be because of your hips and ankles. 💥

If your hips and ankles are stiff, your brain will try to access movement at your lower back…hence why you may develop back pain as a result. 😩

Focus on your overall strength & mobility and back pain should be a thing of the past. 💫
