🏆 GRAND FINAL WINNERS! ⚾🐂

What a way to finish the season!

The Formida Bulls take out the Grand Final, defeating minor round champions Bridgewater Bulls 11–7. 🏆

A huge congratulations to Dan Wentzel and Benny Anil, who managed the team through a spectacular finals campaign, going all the way without dropping a game when it mattered most.

And there’s a pretty special story to finish it off…

20 years in the making!

Greg Abroe can finally call himself a Bulls Grand Final winner, securing his first GF medal, and to make the day even better, taking home the Grand Final MVP as well. 🥇

At the plate, Greg had a walk and two safe hits, then backed it up with a terrific effort on the mound, not allowing the opposition to score a run while he was pitching.

A well-deserved MVP and a fitting reward after 20 years of pulling on the Bulls uniform and competing in true Bulls spirit.

Congratulations to Greg and the whole Formida Bulls team — a great game, a fantastic finals series and one to remember! 🐂⚾🏆

🐂 GRAND FINALS DAY AT BULL PARK! ⚾🏆

This Saturday, The Herd wraps up another brilliant Bulls season with two big games and plenty of reasons to get down to Bull Park.

First up at 11:30am is the most highly anticipated game of the year — The Spooners Game.

It’s baseball… but perhaps not as the rule book intended.

Expect laughs, questionable running directions, non-pitchers on the mound, possible use of a tee, and the ultimate prize: The Spooners Trophy.

Then at 2:00pm, it’s time for the big one.

Grand Final
Formida Bulls vs Bridgewater Bulls

Well done to both teams on making it through to the final game of the season.

For those wanting to see how the Finals played out, the scoreboard results are available on the Bulls website.

The Bull-Bar and Bull BQue will be open, so come along, support the teams and enjoy the day.

Stick around for presentations after the Grand Final, followed by some Bulls Firepit action.

⚾🐂 PRELIM FINALS WEEK!

Last Saturday’s Finals had a bit of everything:

⚾ An expected result,
⚾ A tight, high-scoring extra-innings battle that ran for nearly 3 hours & 35 minutes &,
⚾ And an upset win!

That’s Finals baseball!

Now we’re into Prelim Finals Week and the road to the Grand Final gets a little tougher.

This is the schedule for this Saturday’s Prelim Finals.

Get down to Bull Park, support the teams and enjoy what should be a “NO RAIN DAY!” ☀️🤞

Bulls 2026 Semi Final Schedule

Well done to all teams for getting through the minor rounds, and congratulations to Bridgewater Bulls on finishing as Minor Premiers.

This season we changed how washed-out games and rounds were handled. Every completed game counted towards each team’s overall GM% score.

That helped keep the ladder fair, especially with Bull Throttle completing 10 games, while Bridgewater, Bull Froggs and Bull Squeezers each completed 13. In previous years, more rounds may have been cancelled, which could have penalised teams that still managed to complete a game during wet weather.

So, we’ll call that one a change for the better.

Now, onto this week’s Semi Finals:

9:30am — 4 vs 6: Bull Froggs vs Bull Squeezers
12:00pm — 3 vs 5: Bull Dozers vs Bull Throttle
2:30pm — 1 vs 2: Bridgewater Bulls vs Formida Bulls

Finals Game Rules:
Games are 7 innings, with no time limits. The 5-run innings mercy rule still applies, there is no batting through, and each game must be completed before the next game begins.

Coaches and Managers have the relevant rule change details.

Game Day Activities:
The near-range forecast suggests a possible morning shower and a top of around 16°C, so we’re planning to fire up the Bulls Pits later in the day for some extra warmth and atmosphere.

Bull Breakers are running the Bull BQue and Bull Bar, and they’ll need some help on the day.

Please reach out to Travis Emms or Ben Cullen if you can lend a hand.

See you Saturday for an exciting Semi-Finals round.

🐂 THE BULLS HAD THE WEEKEND OFF… SORT OF! ⚾🔥🍷

There were no regular Bulls games over the King’s Birthday long weekend, but telling The Herd to take it easy was clearly never going to work.

One "Bachelor Herd" headed to the Northern Aces Masters, went through the weekend undefeated and brought home Division 2 Gold after four straight wins. Outstanding work by Coach Benny Anil and the team. 🥇

See the attached image for Benny’s full Gold Medal wrap-up.

Meanwhile, another group of Bulls Herd swapped bats for welding torches at a Wine & Welding afternoon and evening.

Under the watchful eye of “Welding Yoda”, our Female Bulls built two steel Bulls firepits, learnt some welding skills and worked hard on their wine appreciation.

Or was it the other way around?

There may also have been some batting practice involved, just to prove sparks can fly both on and off the diamond. 🔥⚾🍷

Gold medals, firepits, welding, wine and plenty of laughs, just another quiet long weekend for The Herd.

⚾ Back to Bull Park tomorrow!

We’re back with all four Bulls games this Saturday, so get along, support The Herd and enjoy another full day at the diamond.

NB: Next Saturday, 20th June, is the Bulls Health & Wellbeing Day, with guests joining us from Berri and Riverland baseball clubs.

The Heartbeat of Football Foundation will be providing heart health checks, defibrillator and CPR training, along with two television personalities speaking about heart health between the games.

It will be a very special Bulls day, so make sure you're there, lock it into the calendar now. 🐂❤️

🏏 BULLS WEEKLY WRAP Round 2 - 9th May 🏏

Please note: this Weekly Wrap is now a combination of the individual GameChanger recaps as we test new ways to make life easier for our Social Media Team. Early signs suggest fewer late-night typing sessions, less deciphering of handwritten scorebooks and significantly less waiting for Managers’ and Coaches’ recaps to finally land in the inbox.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Another fantastic Saturday at Bull Park delivered big hits, close contests, inside-the-park chaos and enough stolen bases to keep everyone checking whether their car keys were still in their pockets.

🔵 Bridgewater Bulls 9 def. Indomita Bulls 5

Bridgewater Bulls put together one of their most complete performances of the season, piling on runs early before holding off a determined Indomita fightback.

MacNamara was everywhere at the plate with three hits, while Payne, Langley and Krstic each drove in a pair. Lunnon was dealing on the mound, striking out eight batters before Payne came in to help shut the door.

Indomita refused to go quietly though, collecting nine hits and causing constant headaches on the bases all afternoon. If stolen bases earned frequent flyer points, they’d already be halfway to Bali.

🟠 Bull Dozers 10 def. Bull Breakers 9

The cardiac game of the round belonged to Bull Dozers and Bull Breakers, with the Dozers surviving a late comeback in a game that had just about everything except a relaxing final inning.

After falling behind early, the Breakers exploded back into the contest with a five-run rally led by Morrow, who finished with two hits and two RBIs.

The Dozers kept their noses in front thanks to Sparrow’s two RBIs, patient batting and aggressive running that constantly pressured the defence. Somewhere in the middle of all this, coaches on both sides probably aged several years.

🟢 Bull Froggs 8 def. Bull Throttle 3

Bull Froggs produced one of the moments of the season when Holland (Jo) launched an inside-the-park home run that may or may not still be rolling around Bull Park.

The Froggs turned the game on its head with a huge second inning, while Braithwaite impressed both on the mound and at the plate. Add in sharp base running and disciplined batting, and the Froggs looked in control for most of the afternoon.

For Bull Throttle, Forrester-Brown continued to battle hard with two hits and two RBIs in a strong individual performance.

🟣 Formida Bulls 11 def. Bull Squeezers 0

Formida Bulls combined sharp defence, disciplined batting and timely hitting in one of the cleanest performances of the round.

Lloyd led the offence with three RBIs, while Abroe threw four scoreless innings and added plenty of spark on the bases. Formida also fielded cleanly all game, which coaches love almost as much as free post-game food.

For Bull Squeezers, Hart kept competing right to the end with two hits from two at-bats.

👏 Massive thanks to all players, families, scorers, volunteers, supporters and everyone who helped make another brilliant weekend of Bulls baseball possible.

📸 Swipe through for some great moments from around the grounds.

Remember: photo contributions are always welcome, as are comments on the post. Let’s keep The Herd engaged.
