Dear ETKG community,
It is with great sadness that I inform you yesterday’s passing of Pauline Fielden OAM.
Born 5th April 1942, Pauline joined East Torrens in 1957 and won a premiership in her first season at the age of 15, the first of many more to come. Pauline’s tennis strengths revolved around her consistency, running ability, determination and understanding of the game.
Complementing an impressive record as a player Pauline, a life member of ETKG, was President from 1994 – 1997, junior tennis coordinator for 10 years, a committee member for 15 years, volunteered countless hours in the canteen, and managed and captained teams in many divisions. She was a stalwart supporter of ETKG social functions, a great contributor to the friendly and welcoming vibe of our club.
Pauline was heavily involved in SA Tennis Seniors, captained the state side, was a regular participant in national Senior’s tournaments, player of mid-week ladies’ lawn up until last year and recently competed in the 2026 Riverland Seniors Tournament. Her contribution to netball in SA has also been remarkable and she was recently inducted to the Contax Netball Club Hall of Fame.
Pauline was always positive, cheerful and ready for a friendly chat. A life well lived and an inspiration to all of us in so many ways – she will be greatly missed. Deepest condolences to Tracey, Scott and family.
