A Message from the AUHC Co-Presidents Regarding Finals Behaviour
As we head into finals this weekend, there’s plenty to be excited about across the Adelaide University Hockey Club. Finals bring passion, intensity and big crowds, and we want to see everyone getting behind our teams and supporting the club.
With that excitement, we also want to remind all players, coaches, officials and spectators of the standards of behaviour expected when representing or supporting AUHC.
Everyone must conduct themselves in line with the relevant AU Sport, Hockey SA and Hockey Australia Member Protection policies and Codes of Behaviour.
Respect for teammates, opposition players, coaches, umpires, officials, volunteers and spectators is non-negotiable.
Any behaviour found to be in breach of these standards may result in disciplinary action, including match suspensions of up to eight games, depending on the nature and severity of the offence.
Hockey is built on volunteers. From coaches and team managers to umpires, officials and committee members, people give up their time every week so that we can play the sport we love. They deserve our respect — particularly during the pressure and emotion of finals.
We want as many AUHC supporters as possible out at the grounds this weekend. Wear the purple and black, be loud, be passionate and get behind our teams — but always do it positively and respectfully.
Finals are an opportunity to show not only what AUHC can do on the field, but also the culture and values we represent off it.
