Adelaide City is a football club based in Adelaide, South Australia. The club played in the National Soccer League (NSL) for 27 seasons. We now play in the South Australian National Premier League (NPL SA). Adelaide City was founded by people of Italian heritage, originally named Juventus from 1946 to 1966. in 1966 we became Adelaide Juventus, and in 1977 named Adelaide City, when Frank Lister cap

tained the team in the inaugural NSL competition. The club is one of the biggest across Australia and the most successful in South Australia for men and women. Several past and present players, coaches, and administrators of the Zebras have been inducted into the Football South Australia Hall of Fame. We have also developed several Socceroos and Matildas.

Vale Charlie Caruso.

Adelaide City is saddened by the passing of former President Charlie Caruso, a significant figure in the history of our Club and the wider Australian game.

Charlie served as President of Adelaide Juventus from 1972 to 1980 and Adelaide City from 1983 to 1991, with his contribution to football extending across state and national levels.

Our thoughts are with Charlie’s family, friends and all those who knew him.

His legacy at Adelaide City will always be remembered.
