🧠 Is your nervous system stuck in survival mode?
Life gets busy. Between kids’ sports, work meetings, house chores, appointments, and trying to keep everyone else afloat, it’s easy to find yourself constantly rushing from one thing to the next.
When our bodies are under ongoing stress, they don’t always regulate well. Instead, the brain starts prioritising what it sees as essential for survival. That’s why you might find yourself feeling disconnected from loved ones, less present in conversations, or simply “here” without really being here.
You may notice:
✨ Feeling overwhelmed by small things
✨ Less social than usual
✨ Wanting to withdraw from friends or even your partner
✨ Feeling constantly tired but unable to switch off
✨ Brain fog and difficulty concentrating
This is often your nervous system spending too much time in fight-or-flight mode, trying to protect you and reset itself.
💛 What can help?
✔️ Pilates and regular movement to release tension and reconnect with your body
✔️ Nourishing your body with balanced, nutrient-rich meals
✔️ Prioritising quality sleep and recovery
✔️ Creating small moments of calm throughout your day
✔️ Spending time doing something you genuinely enjoy
✔️ Connecting with people who make you feel supported
✔️ Taking a few minutes each day to slow down and breathe
Remember, self-care isn’t selfish. A regulated nervous system helps you show up as the best version of yourself for your family, friends, and most importantly, for you.
