It's time for another Weekend Challenge. π
Be Your Own Visitor
Walk up to your own front door β and see if you'd come in.
All week we've talked about the thirty seconds after someone finds you. The moment their thumb hovers. The quiet questions running underneath β will this even help me? and do I have to commit right now?
This weekend, you get to be that person.
Don't worry, it's simple. Ten minutes, no tech knowledge, nothing to set up. You're just going to look at your own practice the way a nervous stranger would.
How to:
1 Pick one service β ideally one where people might arrive unsure of themselves. Anxiety, confidence, a long-held fear. Something tender.
2 Open your Google Business Profile and your website the way a stranger would β on your phone, fresh, as if you'd just searched and found yourself for the first time.
3 Find the way in. What can someone actually do to make contact? A phone number? A booking calendar? A form? A message option? Write down every door that's available.
4 Now become the person from Monday β nine in the evening, courage warm but cooling, carrying something they're ashamed of. Look at what their only options are. Ask yourself honestly: would I take this step tonight?
5 Notice the first thing you're asked to do. Is it "call now," "book an appointment," or "let's talk first about whether this is right for you"? That's the size of your first ask.

P.S. There are no wrong answers here. If you find a warm, open door β wonderful, tell us. If you find a wall β that's not a verdict on you, it's just useful information you didn't have an hour ago. Every practitioner who's ever looked at this honestly has found something to adjust. The looking is the win.
Template:
"I looked at my [service] page as if I were a nervous first-timer. The only way to reach me is ______. If I were that person tonight, I think I would ______."
Examples:
Quit smoking β "I looked at my quit smoking page as if I were a nervous first-timer. The only way to reach me is a booking calendar. If I were that person tonight, I think I'd actually be fine with it β they've usually already decided. Felt right for this one."
Anxiety β "I looked at my anxiety page as if I were a nervous first-timer. The only way to reach me is a phone number. If I were that person tonight, I think I'd freeze. I'm not sure I could call a stranger and say it out loud."
Confidence β "I looked at my confidence page as if I were a nervous first-timer. The only way to reach me is a contact form that just says 'Book Now.' If I were that person tonight, I think I'd want to ask a question first β and there's nowhere to do that."
The pleasant surprise β "I looked at my fears and phobias page and found I already offer a 'send me a message and we'll have a chat first' option. If I were that person tonight, I think that's exactly the door I'd choose."
Have fun!
