We often hear that "tennis is a long journey". But sometimes we forget to ask, what's the main role of a tennis coach.

For me it's about creating a deeper connection with your athletes, on and off court. Investing the additional time to know them better. Showing genuine concern about what they are doing outside of the tennis court.

It's not about how much you know, but how much you care. But also, while coaching them, it's making sure we are doing the best we can. Giving them the tools, so they have a chance to compete in an tough fight, most of the time.

Their dream. Their journey. We are the facilitators. It's important to let them go when you feel it is the right decision for their own development. Always learning, always progressing, how life should be.

I usually don't post anything related to my personal life, but I need to open an exception today. I'm very proud of this achievement, anyone knows how hard I work to make that happen. So many sacrifices along the way, it's paid off. I'm officially an Aussie citizen. Thanks to every single person that somehow crossed paths with me in this amazing Australian journey.

Another year coming to an end 🎾 - that means another friday squad coming to an end. The last 5 years at we have been running that squad, which started with the kids in orange balls, then green balls, then 10s select, and now officially 12s performance.

As a coach, this is exactly what we wanted to create, a trustworthy journey with the players. See them growing every year, achieving their little goals and most importantly enjoying our environment and their tennis career. Thanks for the trust and I'll see you in 2026 🎾.

Learnings from Italy 🎾

It's always a great opportunity to share knowledge and pass into information. Thanks to the parents who attended the workshop about my learnings in Italy, and the whole "Sistema Itália". I believe that it is crucial to communicate with the parents to make sure we all are on the same page.

Also, I'm very positive that our athletes had the best time on court, doing something new and very challenging. We are looking forward to 2026 and what is ahead of us.

Where do I start ?? What a week ! Literally. 

Well done to all the players on a fantastic week at your first Nationals. Such a nice achievement at a young age. In special, for our 5 players who spent the whole week with me. I hope they enjoyed every minute on court. 

As a coach I was delighted to see their understanding of the level of the game, being resilient, showing passion for the sport and learning what is required day to day in preparation, performance and review.

This is just the beginning. Let's always move forward... Many more moments and memories to share. The hard work never stops ! Vamos.

1997 it was the first time that I saw this court on TV far away from Brazil, watching my idol playing and winning his first ROLAND GARROS 🎾.

Well, 28 years later, here I am. Never thought that day would be possible. Now, I understand the sacrifices and choices of living away for your family and friends pays off sometimes.

Very grateful with the opportunity to enhance that. Such a memorable experience that I will never forget. Looking forward to coming back to Melbourne and putting in practise everything I learnt and experienced those last 3 weeks.

Hopefully much more enjoyable moments ahead ...

The power of a photo !! The importance of self reflection.

The other day I was reflecting about the importance of a tennis coach/teacher into the students/kids life. We actually spend more time with them on court, then at home with our families and friends.

I think it's so important to be a good role model for them. We actually don't know 10% what actually happens outside of a tennis court. So, I'm a big believer that as a coach/role model you must be there from them, listen to them, care about them. You actually will be surprised with the impact you can cause into their lives !

Along those 10 years coaching in Australia it has been a joy to see the students growing, maturing and achieving different things in life, inside and outside of a tennis court. Hopefully to build many more relationships and memories in the next few years.

We are saying goodbye to James 🎾.

From Singapore, James stayed over 6 weeks with us, training and bringing your smile and joy to the tennis courts.

Before he left, James got his first triumph/trophy at Essedon, where he played a GBS tournament. The improvement over the weeks was notorious. We were very happy with his performance over tournaments and willing to learn how to be a better player. Always with a smile on his face.
