WESTERN STRIKERS SC | FOOTBALL DIRECTOR 2027
Western Strikers Soccer Club is pleased to announce Roger Williamson as Football Director for Season 2027, continuing the work and football direction established throughout the 2026 season.
Roger brings extensive experience across South Australian football, having worked across senior men’s/women’s, youth + junior football, with a strong focus on player development, coach development and building sustainable football pathways.
His football journey has included experience with West Torrens Birkalla, working within both the senior men’s and women’s football environments, before continuing his pathway with Campbelltown City, where his roles included involvement in junior girls development and Technical Director responsibilities within the senior women’s program. Alongside these well established clubs, he has also worked with Noarlunga United Soccer Club and Adelaide Olympic Soccer Club in strength and conditioning roles.
Outside his club football involvement, Roger has continued to work extensively in individual and academy player development through Real World Fitness & Training (RWFT) and Superior Squad Australia Academy, helping players develop technically, physically and mentally while encouraging them to take ownership of their individual football journey.
In 2026, Roger joined Western Strikers in a Boys Junior Boys Technical Director role, working closely with the club’s coaches, players and committee to strengthen the structure and direction of the junior football program.
BUILDING ON 2026
The 2026 season has been an important step forward for Western Strikers.
A major focus has been creating greater communication between coaches, improving player development, supporting coaches with their own development and beginning to establish a clearer football pathway throughout the club.
There has been plenty of positive growth, but the ambition is to keep moving forward.
Heading into 2027, Roger’s philosophy is centred around one important principle:
Develop the player. Develop the coach. Develop the club.
The goal is to continue creating an environment where every Western Strikers player has an opportunity to improve, enjoy their football, challenge themselves and understand where their football journey can take them.
For our coaches, the focus will remain on providing greater support, education, communication and opportunities to develop because stronger coaches ultimately create stronger players and stronger teams.
Most importantly, the vision is about building one football club and one football pathway, from our youngest MiniRoos players through youth football and ultimately towards senior football.
Roger is excited to continue the work started in 2026 and work alongside the Western Strikers committee, coaches, players and families as the club takes another positive step forward in Season 2027 and beyond.
