Established in 1995 (May 1st) by Nayima Hassan, Belly Dance Academy of Adelaide blossomed to become a celebrated South Australian success story. Situated in the western precinct of Adelaide CBD at 240 Franklin Street, this great location is easy to access with good free street parking. Set within a historic 1860’s church adorned with Egyptian statues and treasures, you’ll be sure to feel right at home while learning an ancient dance with a modern twist. With a large and beautifully decorated studio hall, your dance surrounds are inspiring and airy. The exotic décor evokes the mystical ambience of a by-gone civilisation, adding to your whole cultural dance experience. Whether a total newbie with two left feet or an experienced dancer, there is a class perfect for you! Beginners classes are held Mon 6pm, Wed 9:45am, Wed 7pm and Sat 9:45am for one hour. For a standard 10 class term, students attend once a week throughout a 10 week term. If you prefer to attend more often, we'd love that and there are really good price incentives to attend more often. There's only one choice in Adelaide for Belly Dance classes, that's here in Franklin Street with Nayima, where the famous choose to rehearse such as Mick Jagger and Cate Blanchett.

🥰 Nayima Hassan - Circa 2005 to today 2026…just like that!!! 🪄💫 From an adorable ‘belly baby’ to a stunning woman in the blink of a genie’s eye 🧞‍♀️ Now, decades later, I’m cuddling Soraya Rosen once again 🤗 Full circle moments like this remind me how many exquisite connections have woven themselves through my life story of dance ✨
To ‘still’ be slipping into sparkly costumes and furthermore, reconnecting with beautiful darlings from my past are truly great honours. The friendships & connections have made this long, crazy & magical journey more meaningful than I could ever say❣️

🧞‍♀️ Nayima Hassan 🍂 Today, the last day of Autumn was the perfect excuse to dance, sparkle, and warm up for Winter ❄️✨ It was the sweetest children’s party, and the little ones were completely enchanted by Queen Sheeba 🐍👑 …and judging by the wide eyes, giggles, and curious questions, I think they liked me a bit too 🤗💖
