Established in 1862, we are the oldest extant Football Club in South Australia and the sixth oldest Football Club of any code in Australia. Football Program is made up of Senior Mens and Women's Football playing in the Adelaide Football League as well as Junior Football playing in the SANFL Junior Leagues. Our Sponsors Day was a fantastic success, with a great turnout and plenty of delicious food and refreshments enjoyed throughout the afternoon. The day was made even better by an outstanding performance from the boys, who capped it off with a thrilling one-point victory!

A special mention goes to the wonderful team from Modbury Vet, who certainly looked like they were having a fantastic time. It was also great to see so many of our sponsors stay back after the game, mingling with the players and enjoying the post-match atmosphere.

200 games for KMAC 🦅

Tomorrow in the A grade, the original moose (for those who are old enough) will run around against Broadview in game 200 in front of our massive crew of sponsors who will be cheering him on for sponsors day 🦅

Kmac has he is know by all, made his way across to Modbury after a successful junior career with our oldest rivals, Tea Tree Gully and some SANFL footy. It isnt often you see players making the transition from red and black to the brown and gold, but we couldnt be happier that this is what unfolded.

K-Mac made his A Grade debut in 2013, which was his first year of senior footy at the age of just 17. In 2014, K-Mac quickly became a mainstay of our A Grade defence, a role which the great man has made a living out of playing front shoulder and putting his body on the line bleeding brown and gold.

Kmac got to taste premiership glory as he was part of our 2016 Division 2 flag and he celebrated the win better than most.

K-Mac has continued to be a constant rock in defence for our A grade side and his past few years of football have been arguably his best, including coming runner up in the A grade best and fairest in 2021, he’s quick on the stats to let you know about his plus 90% kicking efficiency in most games he plays!

Off the field, K-Mac has been a huge contributor to our junior football program as both an assistant coach and head coach. He achieved the ultimate success with our under 16's side as under his guidance, we now have a host of our current senior list play in that side, this just shows the commitment he has for our club.

Going back to his early brown and gold days, he is the only original HJs Modbury crew member to lose his job due to some in-discrepancies involving an ice cream cake and handing out a party bag full of nuggets to QB, Rob Mac and W***y.

But that has never stopped him from being the key pillar in everything off field for the playing list, organising countless footy trips and being the ultimate glue in keeping the morale and setting the culture of our great club.

There will be a host of big names there tomorrow to celebrate this fantastic achievement with him
And we as a club could not be prouder in one of our all time greats.

100 games for Jack “Money Mack” Mitchard

An MFC lifer, Jack Mitchard will play game number 100 in front of the Ladies Day crowd tomorrow in the A grade.

MFCs number 1 graphic designer has been an absolute weapon since stepping foot on the field in a hawks gurnsey.

After a decorated junior career which included a domination year in under 18s, the club was very eager to get him involved in the senior program where has flourished ever since.

A shaky start injury wise, Mack was able to play the back end of the year in 2022 in the invincible C grade team and a massive reason why we were able to get over the line Vs Scotch that day, a finals series to remember for the great man 😉

From there, a flourish of BOG performances had him being a key pillar of a B grade grand final season which showed what talent he had and what an excitement machine we knew would be a long time Modbury footballer in the senior program.

From that moment on, Mack has been on a wing doing his thing predominantly in the A grade running blokes down, using his speed and taking unbelievable hangers for fun (even a snag or two like last week).

Not only are we super proud of the on field efforts for Jack, but his devoted love for the club breathes deep on a weekly basis for his ability to be in the social media team and create our graphics which he does for the love it!

Know also for his long locks and questionable footy trip races suits Davies knows what I’m talking about!

The way he contributes to our club is to be commended as A true Modbury man, we cannot wait to celebrate game 100 with him tomorrow and make sure you fill his mug tomorrow night.
