Conferences aren’t actually the way I learn the best.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Recently I spent a weekend in Sydney attending the Pilates Journal Expo.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Two big days immersed in all things Pilates, hearing from some of the best in the industry.
But if I’m honest, back to back workshops, snapping photo’s, taking notes, trying to capture every detail becomes information overload = low retention.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What made the weekend truly valuable wasn’t trying to remember everything, it was the connection with others;
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
✨Meeting people in person.✨Sharing stories.✨Hearing how others run their businesses.✨Talking about the wins and the challenges we all face in this work.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And the real deeper learning was here;
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🌱In paying attention to what stayed with me.🌱The new connections and friendships.🌱What unsettled me.🌱What sharpened my thinking.🌱What quietly confirmed the way I want to teach.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Often the biggest growth comes not from adding more, but from becoming clearer about what matters and that’s also how I like to teach 😊
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Not overwhelming people with information or chasing the next shiny exercise, but creating the conditions where real change happens through space for understanding, reflection, and progress over time.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Sometimes the greatest learning simply makes you clearer about what matters 🙏💕
