Incredibly proud to see our program and some of our players and partners recognised at the 2024 Tennis SA awards night.

Our SA Blind and Low Vision tennis program was awarded the most outstanding inclusion initiative.

SA BLV player Mark Haskett International Sportsman took out the Most Outstanding Athlete with a Disability.

And congratulations to Andrew Whisson and the SA School and Services for the Visually Impaired on taking out the Most Outstanding School award! None of our programs and pathways would exist without the efforts from Andrew and SASSVI to grow and promote BLV tennis in SA and it is fantastic to see this recognised.

Inclusive Innovations Tasmania Tennis Tasmania Tennis Australia. First B&LV Tennis Come and Try Day in Hobart Tasmania held today! Was a pleasure to come down and meet so many wonderful people and introduce them to B&LV tennis for the first time! Massive thanks to the always inspiring Ross Paterson as well who came down and supported the event.

Super excited for this weekends 2023 South Australian Blind and Low Vision Open! There is a whopping 46 entries in the tournament, making it the largest Blind and Low Vision tournament we’ve held in Australia.

This is a testament to the support and investment that all players from around the country have made by travelling and competing in tournaments, helping grow the sport into what it is today.

The support and investment from Tennis Australia, and more locally Tennis SA, in helping grow the sport has been phenomenal.

There have been so many amazing people and organizations that have contributed to our program here in SA, and while we could never name all of them, we’d like to thank Andrew Whisson who was the first here in SA to introduce Blind and LV tennis, and has been guiding and promoting the sport and our programs ever since. Also to Blind Sports & Recreation Victoria for their guidance and support when we started all those years ago.

If you’ve never witnessed Blind and Low Vision Tennis, get on down to Memorial Drive this weekend and enjoy some of the incredible talent, sportsmanship and athleticism on display.
