Perfect conditions today for NRV’s ‘Come try Track’ morning. We had 11 riders take to the track for the first time. Fabulous to see 3 Ladies give the session a go, one of our ladies in cleats for the first time.

The session included track basics, riding the black, red, blue lines. Flying 200, and Partner led 200’s. I think there is a few sprinters amongst this group !!!

To conclude the session riders tried a Gate Start, and then testing their bike handling by weaving tightly through witches hats on the front straight.

A big thank you to Dannielle who helped guide our ladies around the track and being a ‘Demonstration’ rider. Thank you to George and Justin Savage with mechanical and bike fitting assistance.

Newcastle Hunter Cycle Club’s junior track program has returned to Newcastle Region Velodrome for term 2. Track is great fun juniors, it helps improve bike skills, confidence and fitness. NRV have loan track bikes and NHCC runs the program at no cost (must have AusCycling licence). For further details contact: [email protected]
