2025 is underway with many discussions and early planning chats to ensure that Jared's dream of making men's mental health support easy and accessible for all continues to be an achievable goal in the Upper Hunter and beyond.

The incredible Denman Swimming Club, who are working so hard to rebuild their club this year, have organised a fundraiser for Jared's 949, to be held on Monday, 27th January, 2025.

It was so humbling when the Executive approached us, especially as Jared was a national level swimmer who enjoyed many tussles in the pool with Denman swimmers over the years! What a perfect way for Jared to be remembered and honoured!

A group a children and adults are going to be swimming their hearts out on Monday, 27th January.....and they are looking for sponsors to support them! Some of the swimmers will be attempting to swim hundreds of laps, while there are little ones who will be attempting to swim one whole lap for the first time ever!

If you or your business / workplace would like to sponsor a swimmer/make a donation or even go along and have a dip at the pool while the club members are swimming, the contact details are on the attached information post.

All funds raised from this day will be passed on to Lifeline and other Jared's 949 initiatives, designed to encourage open discussion and change around men's mental health. A separate announcement around these initiatives will be made during the first anniversary of Jared's loss.

Thanks to Kay Borg, Ray Byfield, the Executive of the Denman Swimming Club and the kids of Denman who are going to be swimming their hearts out on Monday, 27th January - Jared will be right there with you!

Happy new year everyone!

I'm not off to the best start.....the pool has become unswimmable!

I will message you all individually, but following professional advice I must delay commencing swimming until next Monday, 6th January. I have been required to "shock" the pool, which makes it unsafe for us to swim in for the next two/three days.

For those that will miss lessons this week, I will talk to you about fitting in make up lessons.

I'd like to thank the amazing guys at Pumps and Pipeline Services in Muswellbrook, especially Braden and Neil, who have gone above and beyond to help me.

Thanks also to my neighbours, Garry and Carson, and young friends, Angus and Ziggy, for all of their hard work in helping me out - I am truly grateful!

Hello everyone.......what a busy time of the year! Thanks to you all for the patience you have shown as I finished my work for the year. I have begun timetabling for January, and will be in touch, responding to messages and advising of times and days for lessons, in the days ahead.

Lessons will be commencing on Wednesday, 1 January and will be ending on Tuesday, 28th January, 2025.

This year I will be asking parents to complete a basic information form for each chid who will be swimming. You will receive this on your child's first day of swimming, along with an information sheet, which will explain how lessons work, payment arrangements, etc.

Hello everyone, if you like walking and fresh air, please keep Tuesday, 10th September free.

I'm in the early stages of planning a 9 for 9 walk to honour our Jared, and also to raise funds for Lifeline.

Lifeline provided immense support to Jaz over the years, and helped to keep him with us to love for a little longer.

Mum has had the best day.....thanks to my wonderful friends all around Australia who backed Floss's One into favourite for Mum's race - thank goodness she won!

It ended up being very emotional all round .- Glenn Milligan trained three winners today. Floss is owned by Glenn and his Mum, and one of the other horses had been purchased by Glenn and his Dad before Bob passed away.

Sadly, I couldn't be there, but Mum was joined by Alison Bennett (my sister), Emma (Mum's only grand-daughter) and Anton (her eldest great grandson).

Mum loved seeing the old silks winning three races, and she was so proud of the Taree Race Club for recognising the people who worked so hard for so many years to build the club.

I'm happy to inform you that after enjoying 4 (5 really!!!) schooners of black beer throughout the day (all bought for her by very handsome gentlemen), Mum is now in front of the fire back at home enjoying a scotch on ice - Balvenie of course!!!

Thanks to all of you for sharing in her very happy day!

Three months this evening since you sent me your last good night message…you were so right-life does go on, but it shouldn’t be going on without you.

Your life mattered, and you will always matter. I love you, my boy…instead of kissing you on the cheek every night, I send my kiss to Heaven now.

I’m so glad you learned to cry in those last weeks, and I’m proud of your mates for sharing that real men do cry, they do hurt and they are allowed to be gentle and kind.

Life goes on…but it shouldn’t. 🤍🩵💙
