The traditional kick-off event for first-year students of the Bachelor's program in Sports Engineering & Ergonomics at UAS Technikum Wien is the “hackathon” in the first week of the semester.

And this year‘s „Sports practice measurement week - summer“ in Brno has already come to an end. Our students have successfully completed all their measurements and presented first results and challenges in the interim presentations. There is still time to finalise the data analysis before the final presentations during our Conference Day on 27 June 2025.

Also this year, the students of the 2nd semester of the Master‘s degree course Sports Technology (FH Technikum Wien) once again went to Brno. Arrival (with all the measurement equipment) and course opening took place on Sunday. On Monday, our three project groups got straight down to measuring. Today at 16:00 we are already looking forward to the first status presentation.

Once again, many thanks to our colleagues at the Brno University of Technology for their support on site and to our UAS Technikum Wien International for their support in the preparation.

📢 Die FH Technikum Wien freut sich, die zweite Ausgabe von „Frauen im Fußball – The Talk“ anzukündigen: Nach dem großartigen Erfolg im letzten Jahr mit über 100 Teilnehmenden setzt zone14 ihre Initiative fort und lädt alle Interessierten herzlich ein.

We (FH Technikum Wien) are delighted to be involved in this project as a partner!

The future of urban mobility is called "We-Bike" 🚴‍♀️ 🌍

E-bikes are transforming urban transportation across Europe. According to last research, in the European Union, almost 30% of all bikes sold in 2023 had electrical assist, compared to 2015 with only 6%.

Recognizing this trend, the We-Bike project (E+ co-funded by the European Union) has officially kicked off! On January 30th, project partners met in Brussels to launch this 30-month project aimed at advancing e-bike mobility across Europe.

🔹 Over the next two and a half years, We-Bike will:
✅ Conduct in-depth research on e-bike mobility
✅ Develop an educational package for key stakeholders
✅ Design safety protocols and guidelines
✅ Draft policy recommendations for urban integration
✅ Strengthen collaboration between public authorities, sports organizations, and educators

With a strong consortium led by ANCI Piemonte (Italy) and partners EPSI, FEDAS - European Federation of Sporting Goods Retailers, FH Technikum Wien, Verde Foundation, Orange Sport Forum and Everythink, We-Bike is set to drive positive change in urban mobility.

On Sunday (1.12.2024) the Kick-Off for this year‘s „sports practice measurement week - winter“ (Master „Sports Technology“, 3rd semester, FH Technikum Wien) took place in Obertauern. As always, we want for nothing with our lovely hosts, the CARPE SOLEM Jules! We are delighted that, thanks to the support of the project „AKTION Österreich - Tschechische Republik“ (by the OeAD-GmbH – Agentur für Bildung und Internationalisierung), colleagues from the Brno University of Technology are once again taking part this year with two project groups. Status presentations are held every evening (17:00) and first insights were already presented and discussed on Monday.

For the first time, students of the Bachelor „Sports Engineering and Ergonomics“ are also with us as part of their course „Sportgerätepraxis: Theorie, Anwendung, Analyse“. Following the practical sessions on the piste, they were given an insight into the Master‘s projects during the presentations.

So far, everything is going according to plan: the first solder joints have already had to be repaired and the weather has also changed today (see the second picture), so the learning outcome is even greater. 😜
