After weeks of intense sessions in the water, pool maintenance could not have come at a better time. We are taking a 2 week break from the water to refresh physically and mentally with basketball training. Swim training in preparation for the H20 Autumn Cup begins in 2 weeks!

Today did not go so well as planned but we still have a few positives!

Some takeaways from today's meet:

1. We shaved off seconds from our last time and is now 19 seconds faster in freestyle.

2. Despite getting startled by a false start of a swimmer next to his lane and falling into the water himself, he still managed to catch up and land himself in 5th place out of 9.

Stamina has always been your strongest asset but catching up and overtaking 4 swimmers after a false start is a good sign and indication that your sprinting ability is catching up to your endurancel!

We will take this chance to learn, regroup, and come back stronger!

We'll get them next time! See you next month in the Short Course Autumn Cup!

No classes, no camp, no swim laps! We took this down time today to do some light training and taper off going into the weekend. After 6 straight days of laps in the pool and basketball drills, we are looking forward to just being lazy, napping, and spending the rest of the day Netflixing and Disney-ing + tomorrow! 😆

Doha's temperature has dipped in the last few days making an outdoor work out much more tolerable. Still, 31 deg C is a challenge!

Personally, I have always loved training in hot conditions.

Training in heat can enhance cardiovascular endurance as the heart has to work harder to pump blood to the skin for cooling, which can contribute to improved overall cardiovascular fitness.

Moreso, exercising in challenging conditions, such as high temperatures, can contribute to mental toughness and resilience. Overcoming discomfort and pushing through adversity strengthens the mind!
