EQC 2026 RECAP
Another EQC, another rollercoaster of emotions! New tactics were tried, former EQC champs were beaten, and lessons for future endeavours were learned.
Coming into this year's EQC we set ourselves high goals for how we wanted to play and the results we wanted to achieve. Unfortunately (yet deservedly), after 2 losses from our first 2 group games top-8 was no longer possible. Kudos to and for the 2 tough games and giving us a first-hand experience for what elite teams look like; it's no wonder you finished 3rd and 5th respectively. While these 2 losses ended our high aspirations, in a bittersweet way they kick-started the remainder of our EQC campaign:
We finished day 1 strong by winning our final group game vs and as well as our first flight stage game vs . The latter gave us a great FoP battle for 3,5 minutes before we caught for the win.
Injuries throughout the tournament impacted our be**er core and forced us to play new line-ups. The team responded incredibly well and adapted to said adversities without flaw.
We ended day 2 on the same high note as we started it: by beating former EQC winners and realising a dream from 2016.
In many ways this EQC provided a full-circle moment for our players and our team. It also marked the long-awaited return of one of our players and the EQC debut of 3 of our players with all of them playing crucial minutes and roles last weekend. We couldn't be more proud of you!
Ultimately, we finished EQC in 11th place and achieved our strongest result thus far. We are definitely hungry for more, however.
