Tri debut !! Swam, cycled and ran until my little legs had nothing left 🏊♀️🚴🏼🏃🏽♀️
Literally, the calf & quad cramp was like nothing I’ve everrr felt in my lifeee on that run but I’ve never been more proud of my body & mind for carrying me through something as I did on Saturday.
Chucked myself deep into the unknown for this one, the goal was just to finish it and what a frikin buzz let me tell you!! 🐝
I LOVE that exercise can make us feel this way, and am so blessed that I’m physically able to take part in such incredible challenges 🤍
After injuring my back over a year ago and still battling with it today, I’d really lost my way with training. Strength based work was always my driver, what I was good at, and I lost that overnight, no focus, nothing to work towards. But instead of dwelling on what I couldn’t do and feeling sorry for myself, I switched the narrative and delved into finding things I COULD do.
I was cardio phobic and if you were to tell 25 year old Hannah that she’d have completed a triathlon at the weekend she’d laugh in your face at the idea of it and plod back to her barbell😂
But our bodies are honestly the most incredible & adaptable things and will take you anywhere your mind believes it can go. It really doesn’t matter our starting point, how inexperienced we are, how unattainable the challenge or intimidating the training seems, if you set your mind to it, combat the self-doubt and put the work in, your body WILL follow!
Enjoyed every minute of this experience even when it did get tough. STUNNING location, weather was perfection & the cycle route was beautifullll! 🍃 I’ll definitely not be stopping here, even if I do have to wait until next year bcos I’m a fair weather cyclist 🤪 all the more time to work on my weaknesses, including spending less time chatting on the transitions 🤐
If I can do hard things, so can you 🤍
